Our group booked four rooms at the Zanzibar Hotel for the weekend of the 15th-17th of February at the end of January.
Despite the fact that we had provided a local contact number (we all live in Dar es Salaam) and been in e-mail communication - they decided to wait until the first member of our party arrived in Stone Town (on the 15th) to tell us that they had switched us to their sister hotel - Africa House - which was a disaster (separate review). Since we had pre-paid, and it was a very busy weekend (music festival), we didn't really have much of a choice.
Perhaps it's not fair for me to write a negative review since we didn't wind up staying in the hotel - but their handling of our situation was poor and I thought that this should be shared.
