La Taverna is a great place too eat. Very good service and delicious food, made of original Italian ingredients. Best restaurant I visited in Zanzibar.

Food was ok. But sitting outside on the terrace is a nightmare.
Hundreds of mosquito's are trying to eat you.
Certainly one of the most friendly place in Zanzibar, The Food is good and the Owners are gems . Not to be missed for a nice dinner with friends
I am a regular customer at La Taverna. They have the best pizza in Zanzibar and probably in all of Tanzania. The pizza makes you feel like you are in Italy not Africa and their homemade pasta dishes with seafood are fabulous.
The location is not the best (a bit off of the regular tourist circuit), but the owners have done a great job with the space and it is worth getting out of the tourist areas for the best Italian food in Zanzibar.
