“Delicious Local Seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Every single thing I ate at this restaurant was divine. From the crab starter to the seafood stew to the panna cotta dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely meal. It's not easy to find this quality in Tanzania

“EXCELLENT FOOD AND GOOD STAFF”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We went twice and would have gone more if we had time as our son begged to go back and there wasn't a burger in sight.

Quiet clean and friendly with excellent food - French Zanzibar mix.
On the nights we went the other guests had all been before and were returning for more. Though as we were eating fairly early it never seemed crowded and I thought it was good value for money

“Delcicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

It's small, it's great food. We had the seafood tapas style starter which was gorgeous. The food was wonderful, good service and it's a lovely hotel. The chocolae pudding was great, but this place really does set itself apart from the usual restaurant fayre in Zanzibar. These are people that remind you why you go out for dinner. It's a small unasuming place, but it's a gem. really worth it. We made the mistake later of going out for dinner looking for the roof top terrace experience, but always ended up going back to Beyt al Chai, because the seafood is sensational.

Don't sit by the restuarantt door, it swings!

“Kelele Quality and Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

Excellent European style and quality of food. Best place for steak in Stonetown but the seafood casserole is the best meal on the menu (IMHO). Prices are comparable to lower quality venues, much more affordable than Serena across the road in Kelele Square.

“Great seafood!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We had dinner here and it was the best meal we had during our week in Zanzibar. Excellent seafood and a great restaurant. Probably would have come back the next day we hadn't departed.
