It is always difficult when you rate a chain hotel like a HGI. It is located just off the freeway on a huge parking lot. While this is convenient when you pass through it isn't like you open your curtains and enjoy the great view.
The area is a normal US shopping area in the outskirts of Town. There are all the chain restaurants and stores you would expect to find.
As I said parking is ample and it is free. The checkin was quick, we arrived on Monday July 22 and the hotel didn't seem too busy, I can imagine that is different on the weekends. Being a HHonors Diamond member I was greeted and were given a room on the 4th floor, my HHonors profile list my preference as high floor, away from elevator so I was a bit surprised when my room 421 was the one you actually could step into directly from the elevator. This didn't bother us during the night but in the morning there was a lot of noise from people waiting for the elevator and staff? having some kind of conversation over radio.
Room was nice and clean but saturated with air freshener.
Breakfast was good, I have free breakfast due to my HHonors status but I would rather pay for this one than have a free but crappy breakfast at Hampton Inn, here you have real eggs cooked to order not that microwave stuff they serve in other places.
One thing I noted was that several of the ice machines was out of order.
