“Wonderful Boutique Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

The Hotel is very good located in Glacis area... The property is very well maintained and the staff very kind and helpful. We stay in 2 different rooms both nice and clean with a nice, big terrace... coffee, tea and cookies in the afternoon very appreciated like the free wireless in the garden area. The beach just in front of the hotel is absolutely amazing and a very good place for snorkeling too. The bus stop to/from Victoria is very good located in front of the hotel, in case u don't have a car to discover the island, the bus is a good option.
I really suggest this hotel, a very good place to stay in Mahé.

Booked a suite - was potentially very nice - but was tired, strangely planned and totally overpriced...and no opening windows (we were adviced to keep the door - that didnt actually close - closed for security!) Reception stiflingly hot - with sweating staff - and thus I found my 5 year old perched on lethal steps with a woobly non-balustade. This led down to a rickety faded wooden terrace (all very Ibiza-zen chic?) with lovely views and cheap wobbly and open balustrade - perfect for the inevitable life-threatening fall onto rocks for anyone under 15 years. As they accept kids without a 'warning of serious injury' - I feel it is down-right irresponsible for the hotel to have such a risk - unless I had held onto my daughter constantly she would have no doubt fallen. Food and drinks hilariously overpriced - and quite limited (even though there is a random trendy restaurant next door with no menu!). Room service choice for kids was poor - and vitually in-edible (altough to be fair my ravenous daugther liked her frozen pizza at 12EU). My wife had a motorway service station burger! Any Posetives? - yes actually the staff we dealt with tried their best and were helpful and quite charming. Also beach was quite nice and so was the rock-pool Really, honest - its a potentially nice place - though it needs a major refub - -- and dont take your kids ---- maybe they should just keep it for adults - and halve the price?

Room Tip: Upper floor suites look nice - youll need to re-mortgage

Bliss Hotel was a great little rustic, boutique hotel to stay at away from the resorts, It had nice touches of simplicity and colours, and the rooms were always filled with sunshine and positive energy. The location was perfect and the bus stop was at your feet where you could meet and chat with the friendly locals. Alternatively the hotel staff were quick to organise a taxi or a hired car.

My room was on the waterfront which made my stay truly special with spectacular views of the sunset, boulders and cocunut trees as you sat on your balcony enjoying the private beach and surroundings. The management (Sheila) and welcoming staff (Cherrie) were all helpfull, informative and pleasant. The wi-fi in the quaint lobby was always accessible. I recommend the Bliss Hotel as it had the cozy personlised features that is lacking on the island. A definite YES !!!

Room Tip: Seaside rooms have better views and comfort than the Hillside rooms!!!

Well, we checked into the "Wave Suite". The name was apt since it was on the seaside.
The first impression of when I went out to the balcony was that I'd been air-dropped into paradise.
It was that time of the day (fairly early) when no other guests were around and we had a feeling of having the whole place to ourselves... Anyhow, paradise would be too mild a word to describe most of Seychelles itself, anyway.
If you are looking for a strictly Creole experience though, this hotel may not be the right choice.
But great service, wholesome, delicious (though expensive) food and a really friendly staff.
Yeah, one thing though - "sparse curtains". Hope they have fixed that since then.
What more could you ask for?
Besides, I loved our spa like bathroom with just a tiny hatch that opened out to the sea and the essential oil burners wafting out heavenly aromas into the room...
I just loved it.
Trust me, you would too :)

We stayed 7 nights at Bliss hotel and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We made good use of the available DVD's to relax in the evening. We had a room with seaside view, which was really magnificent! There's a very nice private beach and snorkelling opportunities. The deck has comfortable lying chairs and the honeymoon package with sunset cocktail is really worth it! The food is really expensive, so we ate at other places. The prices are also without service en tax charges, so I found them misleading. The breakfast was ok, but it was almost every day different: less slices of bread and less yoghurt than the day before; hot cocoa 'milk' with water, and they brought it mostly later than we asked. The restaurant next to the hotel 'Lounge 8' offers good food, but too expensive for what it's worth. We took the 3-course menu for 25euro per person excl. drinks. At the end we had to pay almost 100eur!
So nice hotel, but our other hotel on Praslin was quality vs. price better.

We arrived here from a Spa hotel on La Digue, and to be honest it took a few hours to adjust to the hotel, but when we did, I can honestly say it was one of the best locations I have stayed in. This is not a 5 star luxury hotel, instead it is a very simple rustic, comfortable, relaxing accomodation, with stunning views.

They have rooms on the beach in the main hotel and some further rooms on the hillside accross the road, although when we were there it appeared to be having some work done towards the back on the hillside.

We had booked the Opunni suite, but were upgraded to the much larger Waves Suite. The waves suite (the patio doors and deck on the lower floor to the left of the photos) had a very large bedroom that opened out onto a private sun terrace that connected to the main steps to the small beach. There was a small TV area with a sofa (we didn't use), and a large bathroom / chill room to the side. The room and decking looked towards the setting sun and proved an excellent spot for sundowners and also breakfast in the morning. At night the waves crash against the hotels lower walls which we found very relaxing. Breakfast is great and is served in your large room on the outside deck. Rooms are clean. Service is polite, friendly and attentive, with the reception staff always on hand to book things for you, or just provide some friendly advice on restuarants or things to see.

The Opuni suite, was above the waves room, was much smaller in size, but had a small private terrace adjoining the semi outdoor bathroom and steps down to the main steps down to the beach.

There is a small restaurant next door that provides you with a 3 or 5 course meal if you tell them your allergies / dislikes. Within the 5km radius there are numerous other restaurants, so it may be an idea to have a car for a few days of your stay. Free wifi available in the hotel reception.

All in all, despite initial reservations in the first hour or so we were there, we grew to love the hotel due to its rustic (even Gite style) charm, its stunning views, comfortable rooms and attentive service. An ideal place to switch the phone and brain off, and truly relax!!

Fantastic 4 days, would love to return.

Room Tip: The Waves sea side appeared to have the better rooms, certainly for the view.
