There is something special about this part of the island and this luxury resort does not disappoint! The resort is well spaced and never felt full. I think it is a perfect spot for those looking for a romantic escape or honeymoon. Service was excellent and the beds were probably the most comfortable I have ever slept on.

If you are looking for something special in Mauritius then this is it!

My Husband and I were there for 9 nights in March and very much enjoyed our stay. We weren't happy with the room we were given initially but after some negotiation with the helpful Moonfeh in reception we were given a better one and were very pleased with it. The room was immaculate with a wonderful bathroom, a huge comfortable bed and decorated with atmospheric old black and white photos of Mauritius.
Different cuisines were featured each night in the main restaurant and the food was excellent. Don't miss the coconut ice cream.
The sea was very calm and there were lumps of coral surrounded by colourful fish so it was great for nearby swimming or snorkelling.
One day I forgot my expensive camera on a bench outside the shop. By the time I remembered where it was it was pouring rain but an alert and honest member of the staff had taken it to reception and the camera survived. I was very thankful to that person and the rest of the staff who were very friendly and helpful.
My only real complaint is that most of the dining area is in a covered pavilion. There is an uncovered area but everyone wanted tables there so it was difficult to get one for dinner. More open air space would improve the dining experience.

We spent 2 weeks at the Lux and every day was phantastic. Room, food and service was excellent and we enjoyed the Lux Me Spa Relax - Massages in particular. The perfect way to recover from a stressful time at the office :-)

Room Tip: I would always go for an Prestige-Junior-Suite again with the unbelievable outdoor shower and and oc...

Beautiful hotel, spotlessly kept in a spectacular setting. Unusually for a hotel, the photos don't do it justice, especially the mountain behind it. Our room (superior suite) was huge, with a deep bath as well as a walk in shower. The gardens are exquisite, with a big team working hard to keep them looking that way. We had a very relaxed check in, with a drink, and then shown to our room with a tour of the facilities.

A lovely white sand beach, with a shallow lagoon protected by a coral reef. This does means that there are bits of coral, so you might want to wear something on your feet when swimming– we didn't bother. After a couple of days of sunshine, the seawater was pleasantly warm, even in the Mauritian winter, though the water was cooler on cloudy days. There are two pools, both fairly shallow (1.2m) – very refreshing when the temperature is 32 degrees!

The guests are a mixture of honeymooners and families. More French than anyone else, some Brits, Germans and Italians. We didn't think the number of children was excessive, and they were all well behaved. If you really want to avoid children, then I guess you shouldn't choose a hotel with a kids' club. The activities are well advertised, AI includes water skiing, snorkeling trips, glass bottom boat trips, catamaran, wind surfing ,peddlelow's and dolphin trips in the daily information sheet and on the desks near the kitchen restaurant. You can also do you PADI but this is an extra cost activity.

We did the all-inclusive (honeymoon package) and it's very generous for an AI. A wine list with about 30 different wines on it of reasonable quality (e.g. Casillero del Diablo) including a sparkling wine (Pop Cap is very good) and a dessert wine. You can have pretty much the full cocktail list, local beer (phoenix is quite good) and all the soft drinks. You could pay if you want premium brand spirits or fine wines. It also includes all of your mini-bar including crisps, nuts and biscuits, and ice-cream by the pool (Cornettos and Magnums). Looking at the drink prices we thought it was really worth doing, coke - £4, beer - £5. The breakfasts are superb and very generous. If you were on HB, then fill up on a late breakfast and that would see most people through until dinner (without pinching rolls and croissants, which we saw several people doing).

Don't rely on the menus, as if there is something that you really fancy then the Chefs ( Head -Thomas Bastian and the Mauritian Sous Chef would always be happy to make what you want to order) , there are plenty of dishes which are not on the menu so just ask. The evening meals in the Kitchen restaurant were buffets and the beach where there was a set menu .The spa was fantastic, so relaxing and we had a 45 minute massage included in AI package but we also booked an 'under the stars' massage where you get completely pampered with champagne and a comfy bed under the stars with candles and the stars were so bright (something you very rarely see in England!) it is amazing. The only issue we had is that the treatments are pretty pricey and i had my hair put up for some honeymoon photos which cost 4,500 RS which is around 100 British pounds! really expensive for 10 minutes work, but Rocco (resident Manager and Manie who deals with all the honeymooners) were very understanding and they did arrange for a discount of 2000RS for us.

The staff are, as almost everyone on Tripadvisor has said, universally charming and helpful.

We ventured out on a couple of trips where hotel provided us with an amazing huge lunch packed in a picnic box, all free of charge. We would recommend the Walk with the Lions and swimming with the wild Dolphins, absolutely amazing - we went on a boat trip with Skipper Dan and Nash (you will see them up and down the beach daily and Dan's boat (Navy) is moored by the beach house; this included fishing, swimming with the dolphins, a barbeque on Coconut Island (fresh fish we had caught plus Lobster, prawns and a fish soup all prepared by Skipper Dan (it was totally island cooking and so tasty) also Nash is like a fish himself diving down to collect fresh oysters for me to try, which I might say, were delicious - I have never tried them before but this will not be the last time!

We spent most of our time around the pool or on the beach and the staff kept us topped up with cool drinks and a chit chat they are so friendly - special thanks go out to the pool and beach guys Cedric, Kailash and the guy who always remembered our names (Mr Tony and Mrs Julie!) a lovely bunch of people so warm and friendly we cannot speak highly enough of all the staff. We are already planning our Wedding Anniversary which we will spend here again on Paradise Island.
There is a DVD library with a large selection of films for kids and grownups. Bring plenty of sun screen – a bottle of Piz Buin in the hotel shop was £35!!!

Room Tip: I would advise if you go with a Superior Room and you like a soft mattress then I suggest you reques...

We stayed at Lux Le Morne this month in their honeymoon suite. Great location and beautiful beach, lovely swimming pools and excellent service.
We would highly recommend a meal at the Thai restaurant, delicious seafood and wonderful fried coconut ice cream.
Also, many thanks to Chef Ravi for the excellent food and service. Great job by the barman for the cocktails.

Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at LUX Le Morne last month. We had a nice stay. The hotel food was excellent. I have a sea food allergy and Mr Farhad the beach restaurant manager made sure I had an excellent meal every day and not simply giving me the vegetarian dish. Chef Daniel would go the extra mile by making me a bespoke dish which was always delicious. His beef salad was the best dish I have had on the island and it should be added to the menu for all guests to enjoy.

Many thanks you guys are a credit to the LUX brand! Also thanks to Cindy for recommending the fried ice cream!

One disappointment we had was one evening we went to thank the chef for our meal and the hotels head chef (drunk at a table with other Lux chef’s) the white bald man made some impolite and derogatory comments to us and the chef who had worked very hard on our meals. Quite an embarrassing situation with the hotels head chef insulting your guests and co-workers. Shame on you!

The hotel is in a lovely location, the beach is very nice and lots of pools and sunbeds around.
This hotel is commonly sold as a honeymooner’s hotel but in fact there are children and families and no area for adults only so sometimes peace and quiet can be hard to find.
We had a prestige suite which had a coffee machine and was very nice. The double sunbed outside our room was excellent and very relaxing. The room was just too dark. But in all an excellent hotel with great food and drinks.

Room Tip: Prestige suites have a lovely garden area with sunbed. Worth every penny!
