All in all a nice day, but there are some issues that should be addressed by both parties - Mauritius Attractions and Club Med. This package need some quality control on what's offered and what's actually on offer.
First, you will NOT be met by friendly staff who will guide you through the premises. At reception you will be given a wrist band showing you are in on a day pass, and waived off: "You can use that part of the resort..." So, just figure it out by your self.
Second, there is NO breakfast. Though breakfast is not stated in your voucher, it is still in the description at the MA web site. Luckily there were some light snack available in the bar area, so we could fill up with some croissants, fruits, tea and juice.
There is NO particularly welcome drink, but it does hardly matter. Your wrist band gives you carte blanch to everything you want whenever you want it. The pool side staff are attentive and friendly, and will see to that your needs are cared for. As far as we could see, the same service applied at the beach. We experienced every staff member (except reception) attentive, friendly and caring, both to residents and day visitors alike.
We visited on a Sunday with nice weather. But the past days had been windy with heavy downpours, which made the beach area not very attractive due to high swellings and strong currents. We therefore decided to stay pool side. All though a family resort with a lot of children, the pool area was quiet and the pool looked after by a restrictive (positive) and humorist life guard. Boarder breaking teens were kept at a tight leash.
At about 11 AM the water aerobics starts, accompanied by extremely loud music. During this period we had to retreat to the beach, because the loudness of the music was a little too much for us. This lasts about one and a half hour.
Lunch started at 12:30 PM, and was great. A buffet lunch with an abundance of choices, all very well prepared and displayed. Lots of sitting areas, thus no problem finding a table, and we found a table for two on the airy veranda facing the sea. The only negative turned out to be a small toast with some fish cream were the toast proved full of ants. Not very nice to suddenly find hundreds of tiny ants on your plate. The plate, with everything on it, was efficiently whisked away by our waiter.
As said, all in all a nice day. But in no way as great as the Ile aux Cerfs Luxury Day Trip we attended last year. Not even close. But, still, we had a nice day off the public beaches which are very crowded on Sundays.
