We stayed here for 9 nights all inc. for our honeymoon and all in all had a great time.

PROS - the hotel itself is very nice and our room was lovely no complaints other than trees blocking the view of the ocean but we were never in the room so wasn't a problem.
The staff were all amazing to us and so friendly and always said hi and went out thier way to make you feel at home, especially Vinesh at the bar was a lovely lad who looked after us.
The pool is amazing and at night we would go and use the other pool which is heated and it would just be the 2 of us most of the time which was nice.
We went out snorkelling a few times which was amazing and saw eels and a turtle amongst other colourful fish.
We had a couple of massages in the spa which was amazing and they were really good at a relatively good price.
In regards to the cleaning , the rooms were always kept clean and they even came to turn room down in evening if wanted.
The food was great and we ate in the senso buffet a lot and there is plenty of choice especially curry which for me was great! Also the other restaraunts were of good standard and i cant fault any of the food.
The guys all made nice cocktails and being all inc was definatley ideal as these were all covered as was the food.

Cons.
Unfortunately the talk about the flies is true and they were irritating during the day by the pool and parts of the beach near the main pool especially if i was eating lunch! There aren't thousands but enough to be annoying but some people didn't seem fazed by them.
I feel this could easily be resolved with a bit of thought.
The biggest letdown was the beach which i did know about before i left after reading reviews but it was really stony and I couldn't walk on it barefoot, plus you cant really venture out into the water because it is enclosed in.

Other than these few points we had an amazing time and loved it there especially a day excursion we took to the most beautiful place, an island off the east coast called Il aux cerfs via a catamaran which was well worth it with good food cooked for us and some snorkelling involved aswell, a must do if go to mauritius.

Room Tip: depending on budget i would recommend all inc. as you wont leave the resort too often with it being...

Hello
Have not actually been to this hotel yet. However I am planning an AI holiday here for early December and am very worried about choosing this hotel vs other in the area due to some of the negative comments. Mainly :

- Flies
. Lack of cleanness to the rooms
- and the fact that the rooms may be smell and have damp problems.

Thank you for considering InterContinental Mauritius Resort for your next holidays.
Indeed, there have been some flies issues but that was a passing problem and it was not specifically located at our hotel. All the hotels in the region underwent the same problem. This issue has been now sorted out by regular pest control.
As regards to the comments about the room cleanliness and room dampness, we wish to reassure you that it was a one-off comment that you read and you can trust us to ensure that you enjoy the vacation of a lifetime with us!.
We hope to get the opportunity to pamper you for your future holidays in our property.

beautiful property, well appointed rooms, fantastic ambience, good spread of food/restaurants, uber cool beach front etc...
poor reception, average service, low response levels..staff behaviour and hospitality was not appreciated, room service was disappointing...

Room Tip: go for the terrace jacuzzi room...its awesome

Came here for my honeymoon (six nights, seven days) and was absolutely floored by the five star treatment by the staff at every interaction, be it the reception, the dining (except for at the Veda restaurant where everyone is rude!), Spa, boating, everywhere!
Fantastic and very cozy, the rooms have every amenity you might think of. We had breakfast and dinner at Senso restaurant and food was great. The special candle lit dinner night was a disappointment though. With too many flies and bad service, it was quite unlike the time we had enjoyed during most of the week. I sincerely hope that they come up with a solution to this issue. Overall I have to say that we enjoyed our stay and thanks again to everyone who helped us to make our stay a memorable one.

Two negatives: One is that they do not have internet/WiFi in rooms and it can be a pain to come to the business center every-time.
Two, they do not have intercoms in the lobby, so do not forget your keys and get locked outside your rooms. The resort is really big and you may have to walk back to the reception to get them!

Room Tip: Suite with Jacuzzi is a must!

Reception upon arrival: GREAT! Room: reasonable, with jacuzzi outside but visible wear on walls, lamps, toilet etc.. Garden: very well maintained and huge, nice for an evening stroll. Breakfast buffet: good with lots of choice. Restaurants: Vega; excellent food and friendly service, Segala; we had a very bad experience but after complaining had an excellent meal on the beach as compensation, Asian buffet; hotel food. Employees; mostly friendly but very inefficient , except the girl at our reception, in visibly old, sometimes torn and stained uniforms. Pool bar; fast and good service. Pools; OK but very shallow, safe for children though. Beach; artificial but nice, no real swimming possible due to rocks underwater.
Birds and flies are everywhere, thanks to the open way of building the hall and restaurants.
Conclusion: this resort is very nice for a short stay, although way too expensive for what you get.
The resort is in desperate need of an overhaul, paint, uniforms of staff, lamps etc.

Room Tip: The hotel is very spread out so try to get a room as close to the main hall as you can get or the ex...

My wife and I spent 12 nights at this resort and could not fault any part of what the team at the Intercontinental are trying to achieve. We had a stunning room with spectacular views. Our stay was made so special by the efforts of the staff. I sincerely hope the management appreciate how hard their staff works. Kevin at the front desk was an invaluable source of information, Parwez was always on hand to keep us well hydrated with a range of cocktails and a special mention to Mitesh who looked after us non stop.



I would like to thank the staff for making our dream holiday very special.

We booked 3 deluxe rooms for a 2 night stay on the 1st november 2013..Guylene, from the reservation, was very helpful since we were a large family and had kids.She made sure everything was up to my requests.Upon arrival we had a warm welcome from the staff specially NEEL from the reception and he tried his best to meet all our requests till our check out,THANK YOU.Our first nice surprise was an upgrade to a family room which suited us better.The hotel is very nice,with excellent view,a heated swimming pool near our rooms which the kids enjoyed a lot.The rooms were very cozy,with all amenities,and very beautifully decorated.We enjoyed the sauna,hammam and jacuzzi from the spa and activities from the boathouse,kayak,pedal boat,glass bottom.As we were on halfboard we had breakfast and dinner at Senso restaurant on both days and food was great specially Indian food was awsome,However i felt that most of the waiters were not very welcoming and helpful.
The only negative aspect that i want to point out is that there are too many flies at the reataurant specially during breakfast.I sincerely hope that they come up with a solution to this issue.
Overall I have to say that we enjoyed our stay and thanks again to everyone who helped us to make our stay a memorable one.It was a perfect family weekend and i definitely want to come back again soon.
