“hotel with style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2011

I 've decided for this hotel even although it is not directly at the sea. And at the beginning I was little confused in expectations about the minibus transport, but it was pleasant, you feel more like to take a taxi. It s not overcrowded , it comes every 7-10 minutes and you need 5 minutes to get to the beech or back. Hotel - very nice location on the little sand hill looks like a castle and I was dependent on the beautiful views from the terrace. Mixture of oriental style and english hand, quiet, pleasant, clean. Wonderful Spa - once you try, you must repeat :)
Beach - nice, quiet, clear water marvellous snorchling memories. Staff - very nice, pleasant, caring, helpful, observant, smiling from morning to morning - they make the atmosphere of this nice place - and until now we have been there 3 times. Thanks to everybody.

We stayed in this hotel for twelve nights and were very happy with the quality this hotel gives its customers.
Hotel is very clean and yes very quiet. Beach was nice but nothing special. And you can only reach this by minibus. Takes about 6 or 7 minutes and sometimes you have to wait more the 10 minutes. But this is a free service of all the hotels in Soma Bay.
And yes this hotel aims at the highest quality for its clientele.
We had room 2369 a junior suite with a great view. And the thalasso treatments we had been of very high standards. Most of their clientele are repeat customer four years.
The food was for us the best we ever eat at a hotel in Egypt (Four Seasons, Movenpick and others) There were not many guests and so the ala cart restaurant was closed. But the Italian Chef en his colleague Egyptian Chef Amed came to ask us what we would like to eat because we told them that we do like buffets. (Then we eat too much HAHA). So every day we eat something different for twelve days. And the standard of served food was really good. We are foodies and go out to eat in good restaurants around the world so we know about food. You stay in hotel and sometimes you eat two or three times the same but not in Les Cacades of course you have to ask. So food super, room perfect, cleaning of room also perfect and the staff who are working in this hotel for years is great. Of course being friendly and helps a lot. Egyptians are people who like like to interact with their customers. So this works from both sides. And yes tipping is a part of culture when you know what is a Egyptians’ salary. So again this works from both sides. But we came for diving and the Orca dive basis is run in a good way. We liked the diving but the truth is that Sharm has the better diving.
So we had relaxing twelve days with good food and great service. And this hotel is recommended for everybody who is looking for the highest standard in Egypt today.

This trip has been overall a relaxing trip, but I would not call it "amazing"; I noticed that all travellers very happy about this hotel are overall golf players and yes the golf is wonderful but an hotel is not only is golf facility....

Positive:
- Hotel is very clean
- Hotel is very quiet
- Beach was very nice, clean and we very "empty" only a few customers use it, which - was very nice for us
- Only adults and really a few baby/kids all well educated by parents
- High Class customers
- Room was a junior suite and very spacious, our friends had a standard seaview room which was also very nice
- Hotel is well located in the middle of nowhere so no crowdy hotels close by
- Nice landscape around
- Nice Thalasso/Golf; we had treatments at Thalasso it was very good given by Thailandese personal very professional; but the aquatonic pool disappoint us.
- Good Live Music in the evening (but not disturbing the sleep of the other customers in their rooms)
- We use the gym every day and even if this one was not huge it was sufficient, with excellent brandnew Technogym machines, there service was good, attendant was paying attention giving you towel and water. Changing room were spacious and very clean. Same for sauna and steam room.
Negative:
- For a 5* hotel, it was completely disorganised specially in area where service is involved (no problem at buffet)
- The AI was not a real AI, more a Full-Board with soft drinks
- This disorganisation was refelected in the organisation of our trip to Luxor (postponed and then cancelled by them, with excuses very strange,,,); they even forgot to cancel the late dinner so I received a room service waking us in the evening for nothing!
- Often waiters are expecting the tip prior doing their job; if you don't tip them they do not do their job (e.g.: they make you wait hours prior bringing you your order etc...). I am use to tip if I enjoy the service not to tip to receive what is due!
- This tipping problem, is also visible at the pool (thanks God we used it only a few times). I knew about people putting their towels on the sunbed prior going to breakfast in order to be "sure" to get the best place. But there we could see it was even worse: people were tipping the pool attendant to place the towel for them, they were going to play golf showing up only in the late afternoon so you had "busy" sunbeds all day long for nothing.
- Food was not really good, I heard some customers having food poisoning (from pool restaurant).
- No walking path from hotel to beach, this would have been nice as each time it took us using the road taking around 30 min. I know there is the shuttle but sometimes it is very pleasant to walk.
We had a relaxing holiday because we were there to snorkel (snorkel is very good around the jetty) and enjoy the beach, the quiet ; but I would have been happy to avoid some problems that occurs like with some waiters or for the organisation of the never happened trip to Luxor!

The Service was exellent and friendly, the food was exellent, the room was a junior suite and was very spacious and very clean and quite, no flies or mosquetos slept with the door open could just hear the sea. The location was perfect having breakfast looking onto the golf course and the first tee. One had the feeling you are on an Island, no traffic no tourism just one shop. The Spa was amazing the best in the world the aqua tonic pool was the best ever. Fresh air no polution. The golf course was amazing, the signature hole was identical to the PGA tour in California, very challenging, somedays very windy but always sunshine. The beaches were clean. I would recommend this hotel and it's facilities to anyone.

Loved the hotel.
Got an upgrade to a Gary Player suite; I felt privilidged.
Service and food outstanding, beach awesome.
A fantastic Leading Hotel.
I'll be back in march 2011 .
For children not the best hotel , more suitable for adults who like to relax and have a quiet stay.
