My grandparents found out about this place in the 70s and would take their family (including my father) ever year. The tradition continued for a long time. I am now 16 and we still go! Even my mom's family comes! This place turned into an icon for our family memories. So much has changed for the better at 'the ranch' but it still stays the same in a sentimental way.

This place has amazing activities for all ages. There is arts and crafts for the younger ones, hay and wagon rides, pony and horseback riding, banana boating, kayaking, fishing, pedal boating, archery and much more! No matter your age, you will find something fun to do. There is even nightlife! If you want to swim you can take a dip in the lake or go to the indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. You can have fun and be out all day and when you hear the ringing of the bell, head to the lodge for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Ridin Hy Ranch is a great place to vacation. Its extremely safe too! I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to have loads of fun.

Room Tip: If you are a family of 4 or less, go with the B rooms, if more people, try the A or AA rooms.

Just got back from our first trip to Ridin Hy and it won't be our last! The perfect place for an easy family vacation - everything is taken care of. There is something to do for everyone in the family, and enough to do that no-one will get bored. You really can ride as much as you want [can], the approx. 70 horses are extremely well cared for and well-behaved. Various levels of rides to accommodate all abilities.
There is plenty of availability to participate in all of the other activities, from water-oriented
You can feel safe letting kids have the run of the resort, since it is self-contained and easy to walk the central grounds in just a few minutes. Our kids learned to water-ski, my wife learned to kayak and we did more in 5 days than we can remember. The evening bingo game, and nightly activities draw everyone in. Food is great and abundant, and they can handle any special dietary needs or finicky kid wishes.
The staff is fantastic; friendly, helpful and accommodating. They enjoy what they do and it shows. the accommodations are very 'Adirondack" - log cabins and wood clad walls, and round out the ranch atmosphere. Many of the families we met have been coming back year after year - some for 3 generations. The kids already asked us to book for next year, and we may try to get back sooner [over winter holidays]!

Room Tip: If you don't mind bunking with the kids in the same room, the motel style rooms with 3 beds are...

There is something for everyone here. Horse back riding for all levels, staff vs guests softball, a Great Lake for free fishing and boating, swimming, all day long. No air conditioning or locks on doors does take a bit getting used to. The Monday night rodeo is a not miss. Kids love the food and feeding horses. New huge gymnasium for bball and bouncy house was a nice new add from
Last year. This has now become our annual family trip.

Take a hike. Ride a horse. Swim. Fish. Row a boat. Get a pedicure. Do any of hundreds of things or do nothing but read a book. I would recommend Ridin-Hy Ranch to anyone, young or old. I expressed interest in a specific hike. Keri said, "Okay, I'll make a note for that to be tomorrow's hike". It was a beautiful hike to a castle ruins.
If you want a specific level ride, and no one else is on the list for that time, that is type of ride they will do.
It was so awesome to be able to so many things without getting our whole crew ready and jumping in the car to drive somewhere. Everyone could do what they wanted, when they wanted. I would rate Ridin-Hy higher than 5 stars if I could.

We are three generations just back from our 5th trip and plan to go every year. The main thing is that the kids love it. They love everything; the horses, the games, bingo, hikes, swimming in the lake, paddleboats, rowboats, kayaks. There is always something to do. It is a stress-free vacation.
