“Great Place to relax and enjoy Gore Mountain area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2011

We spent two great days skiing in Gore Mountain and staying at Alynn’s Butterfly Inn. Great place.
I could not be more satisfied with the place itself: beautifully appointed house, very cozy rooms, all little things that make one’s stay so enjoyable and very friendly owners… And of course delicious warm breakfast every morning cooked by Lynn. The location was very convenient to the mountain and Lake George. If you ever decide to spend couple of days in this area I would strongly recommend Alynn’s Butterfly Inn.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time. The warm friendly atmosphere made us feel relaxed and special. We woke up each day to gourmet breakfasts served as a family with relaxed conversation between guests and hosts. We came back from skiing to hot home made soup, home made cookies, and tea or hot chocolate. The living room is full of sun which is nice for relaxing in with a book or visiting. Lynn and Al were so kind. They even tracked down gloves and a hat we left at a restaurant and surprised us with them! We came home so refreshed! We can hardly wait for an excuse to return! (I checked Trip Advisor before selecting it and was thrilled with the reliable reviews!) Also, I have dust allergies and was thrilled at how clean it was!

This is a comfortable inn with friendly hosts and delicious breakfasts The Inn is an old farm house which had several renovations. So the rooms are on two floors and are not hotel like. Each room is named for a butterfly and butterflies abound in the decor. Snowmen are popular too. The hosts are friendly and are willing to give advice about local skiing, shops etc., if you ask . Al waited up at night until my friends and I were all home. It was like coming home to dad-in a good way. Lynn made interesting, delicious and plentiful breakfasts. This is not a place if you want anonymity. They learned our names and addressed us by them. On our last day it snowed and Al cleaned the snow off our cars after plowing the driveway. One thing for winter guests-bring slippers. They don't permit outside shoes on the carpets due to the salt used to melt the snow outside.

We can't say enough good things about this B&B. We knew that this place would be special just from our first conversation with Al on the phone. We arrived almost at 10:00 PM and Al was still up and waiting for us and eager to give us a tour. The decorating inside was absolutely beautiful. We stayed for two nights and I've never felt so relaxed by the end of a vacation.

In the morning, there was a wonderful breakfast of pumpkin pancakes and eggs and hash browns. It was delicious. Lynn is a fantastic cook. Her and Al were two of the nicest people that we've met - they didn't hesitate to share stories with us (Ask Al about his midwinter jump in the lake).

I was also pleasently surprised to find that most of the other people staying there were young couples around our age, late 20's early 30's.

I can't recommend this place enough. Its so obvious that Al and Lynn put so much time and care into their B&B. It shows everywhere.

Alynn's bed and breakfast is a lovely, quaint place to stay. It is close enough to Lake George, Bolton Landing and Saratoga and yet far enough that it doesn't make it too touristy. It is a typical bed and breakfast in an older home except has modern bathrooms. The rooms are private and original. Every morning, Lynn makes a scrumptious and delicious breakfast with perfect portions. By far, the best food in Lake George, Bolton Landing and Saratoga.

Al and Lynn are wonderful hosts! We stayed with them for a long weekend getaway in June. The rooms were lovely and the breakfasts were awesome! They have a beautiful estate around the Inn and gave very good advice about what to see in the area. Their food recommendations were dead on. And we're foodies!!
We had great long conversations with them at the Inn and connected in many ways. Anyone who could find something wrong with this Inn must be blind, deaf and have absolutely no taste.

Thank you Al and Lynn!! We enjoyed our time away from the City! We'll be back!

This was our first trip to the Adirondacks and were surprised by the prices of the rooms in many of the neighboring motels & hotels. We decided to check the B & B's and found Alynn's. From the moment we pulled up we knew, from the ambiance of the B & B and the surrounding grounds, to the friendly greeting from Al and Lynn, that we had made a good choice.
Our room was very comfortable and quiet. We slept well and the breakfasts were delicious . We had to leave by 5:30 the 3rd morning and didn't expect any breakfast that early but Lynn had prepared the coffee the night before, and told us how to start it when we got up. To my surprise as I was turning on the coffee Lynn walked in and put out a beautiful but practical breakfast for us before we left.
We will return and bring friends in the future to enjoy the serene setting of this B & B and the beautiful area surrounding it.
