“Room Temp Uncomfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2008

Can't be as positive as the others because of one thing, the room was WARM. Upon arriving at 8pm, the a/c was on but the room was 80 degrees and it took nearly 2 hours to get down to 70. This is not the desert, it is New York and the outside temp was only 85 or so. Staff was very friendly and other amenities were typical for RI.

This hotel was great! There is lots of space. My room had a full kitchen, a small table, two closets, a couch, a desk, internet hook up, a queen size bed, a bathroom, and a seperate dresing area. The hotel has a clean pool, a basketball court, and a jacuzzi. When we arrived there was fresh pizza and snacks! The breakfast is great and every evening they have some sort of complimentary meal. I would definitely stay here again. I also think this would be a great place to stay if you have a toddler or small child because there is space for them to play.

We love Marriott! As usual – a clean comfortable room with comfortable bed. Bring your own Cat-5 cable for Internet access along with firewood. The fireplaces were great in the winter, adding ambiance and warmth. Hot breakfast included!

I went up to Binghamton this weekend with my dad and brother to visit the university for my brother. My parents used to stay here when I went to Binghamton, but I forgot what a lovely, homey place it is to saty in. We stayed in the Penthouse, which was great for 3 people (2 bedroms, 2 bathrooms, living area, kitchen). Most people stay at the Holiday Inn across from the school, or other hotels in downtown Binghamton. If you plan to go to Bingo definitely try this place; it's less then 5 minutes from the school, and less than 10 minutes to downtown. The included breakfast is excellent, they had a little bit of everything. The service is also very good. Bed was very confortavle and had extra pillows (which you can request when reserving the room).

This past weekend, we stayed in the penthouse unit for 2 nights. The 2 bedrooms with kitchen and sitting area were perfect for me and my four kids. The hotel provided a portacrib for my toddler, including a fresh sheet and clean baby blanket. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker, and all major appliances. There was coffee, tea, and microwave popcorn provided also. Although we didn't use this service, there was a grocery list that could be filled out and submitted to the front desk in the morning and your groceries would be delivered and charged to your room with no delivery feel. The unit was simply furnished and the beds very comfortable. The 2 bathrooms were clean and modern and had shampoo, conditioner, soaps, lotion, and a shower cap provided.
The staff members were very friendly and checkin went smoothly. There is one computer in the lobby with a printer and free internet access. There is a complimentary breakfast served in the lobby, but we went out.
The heating/cooling unit worked well and all three televisions were working. There is a small recreation/basketball court and we used that with playing balls provided by the front desk.
As a family of 5, we were very comfortable in this unit and will return.

Family of four stayed here one night. Room not terribly clean. Had not been dusted --lots of cobwebs. Carpet has been updated, but bathrooms old--had to duck under the low showerhead--very weird. There was supposed to be a pull-out sofabed in the living area, but it was just a regular sofa. Have stayed in Res. Inns many times with 2-bedroom setup and this was by far the smallest by at least 30%. Breakfast buffet in the morning was very nice. Glad we were only here one night.

  • Liked — breakfast
  • Disliked — dusty room, outdated bath, too soft matresses,

This summer on our way to Niagara Falls, my family and I stayed for one night at the Residence Inn Binghamton which is actually located in Vestal N.Y.. I absolutely loved the room. It was perfect for our family because it had a large queen bed and bath on the first floor of the room, and stairs leading to a loft area with another queen bed and bathroom. The loft area overlooked the living area which also had a couch and TV. The kitchen was also nice with a table and chairs as well as fridge, microwave, oven pots and pans, dishes etc. The room was large clean and our kids really enjoyed the outdoor pool. There were also tennis courts on the grounds which were well kept and lots of flowers around. The staff were okay, but not at all friendly. I didn't think the free breakfast was as nice as some of the other hotels like Embassy Suites who offer a full hot breakfast. Just bagels, fruit, oatmeal and cold cereal, muffins and make your own waffels. The location of the place left something to be desired though. The hotel is right next to a lot that was overgrown with tall grass, weeds and debris. It looked like a restaurant used to be on the lot and had been gone a long time. It would be worth it for the hotel to buy that adjacent property just to cleann up the area next to them. All in all, I loved the room and for one night I didn't mind the staff or location.
