“A perfect Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

My husband and I had a business meeting at The Lodge at Turning Stone last week. We live outside Buffalo and it took exactly two hours to get there via the NYS Thruway. The resort is minutes from the exit, which makes it a cinch to find.

We were told that The Lodge was "the place" to stay at the resort and it did not disappoint. All rooms are suites with lots of space, all of the ammenities of a great suite, with a wonderful bathroom setup too.

The staff was very accomodating. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the Skana spa! It is a beautiful spa, with great services. The only complaint - the ammenities at the spa could be beefed up. No hair gel or mousse, which sounds picky....but if you just showered.....it was not possible to get your hair dry. I did not see blow dryers either.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Italian bistro on the property....a stone's throw from the casino. The casino was huge. We are not big gamblers, but if you are, you will not be disppointed.

There is a great antiquing town about twenty minutes away, which I particularly enjoyed.
On the ride home, we took route 20 heading west.....we made a note that this was a must do during the Fall. The scenery was spectacular this time of year too.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor.

The Lodge came highly recommended to me by some local members of industry and the short drive to Rome each morning was well worth the effort.

The Good
• All members of staff and management performed their job flawlessly though a few did have some issues understanding my broad Australian accent ;-)
• The suite was excellent and fully catered to all of my needs
• The Spa is world class
• The Lodge itself was very quiet prior to Friday night
• The feeling of separation from the rest of the casino (a short stroll if required)

The Not so Good
• No mobile connectivity (Cell) though terrestrial and Internet communication options were fully catered.
• My trip itinerary did not allow an extension for some personal time within the Lodge

The Lodge At Turning Stone is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are immaculate, the linens are spotless. The turndown service, robe and slippers and chocolate are wonderful. The hotel staff was very polite and welcoming. We wish all hotels were this lovely!

We chose the Lodge at Turning Stone for my husbands 50th birthday celebration with our teenage children. The package included the spa treatment for my husband. It was the highlight of his birthday! He spent two hours at the spa being pampered. The Wildflowers restaurant was top notch! We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub, which was very clean ,warm and inviting.I thought the hotel was very thoughtfully layed out and tastefully decored with strong influences of the American Indian culture. The open lobby with alcoves around the massive fireplace were inviting. The lodge is a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the many visitors of the casino. The rooms were very spacious suites. Unique room amenties were the l'occitaine toiletries, double shower heads, frosted frenh doors walkthru bathroom, desk area with wifi, turndown with slippers, very reasonable minibar. It was the perfect luxurious one night getaway.I will definitely return.

My husband and I come here for a romantic getaway at least once a year, and we are never disappointed. I had a wonderful massage, while he visited the casino, then we had an excellent dinner at The Forest Grill. The bext morning we had a delicious breakfast in our room. We were given an extended checkout with no problems. The staff was great, the room was very comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for, love the L'Occitane bath amenities! Never disappointed.

I have no complaints what so ever in regards to our stay at the lodge at turning stone. From time of check-in to time of check-out was an overall great experience. Everyone on staff was friendly and courteous. The place was beautiful, quite and relaxing. i particularly enjoyed the pool & sauna. The food at "Wildflowers" was great. I also recommend eating at the buffet at Turning casino (Another thumbs up with the food). The lodge is connected to the casino which was also nice. The suites are nice and spacious and relaxing.
