“Okay, but not worth $155”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2006

My husband and I stayed the night in the Tower after seeing a concert at Turning Stone's Event Center. First of all, we were supposed to have non-smoking room and they accidentally booked us in a smoking. Second, we'd requested a room on a higher level and they were gonna give us one on the 19th floor. It wasn't ready when we got there. After an hour of waiting around, they told us there was one on the 9th floor we could have if we didn't want to wait. So we took it.

The room was nice, but surprisingly small. Nice view. Everything was clean, other than the cigarette smell. The king-sized bed was the most comfortable we'd ever slept in! That was the best part of our stay. Full-size ironing board in the roomy closet, plus a blow dryer. Nice, big bathroom, but the shower was weird. There's only a half-door, which doesn't slide shut. The water pressure was too low for our taste. No bathtub; only a shower. Cool, light-up magnifying makeup mirror attached to the bathroom wall.

When you check into your room, please note that the mini fridge, located under the TV, is monitored by a sensor. Even if you don't take anything out- say if you reach in there and slide things around to make room for your own stuff- you will be charged the full $25 "incidentals" deposit they automatically put on your credit card. Sorry, but I am not going to pay $2.75 for a little bottle of Diet Coke, no matter how thirsty I am! I recommend bringing a cooler or utilizing the ice machine down the hall to fill up the bathroom sink and convert it into a place to chill your beer! (BYOB; it's a dry casino!)

Nice, but not worth $155 a night. Especially when the casino machines are as tight as they are!

My SO and I spent a night away and decided to go down the Thruway to Turning Stone and stay at the Tower. We made reservations the day before by phone for a King/NS and thats exactly what we received and we were also asked if we preferred an upper or lower level floor. Restaurants, map of resort, wet bar etc was all explained at check-in. The room was beyond what we were expecting; very stylish, comfortable, clean. The bathroom also had a double head shower, plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. Upon returning from dinner we had a message on the phone from the check in person again welcoming us and reminding us to please contact them with any needs or questions. We parked for free in the parking garage; valet is available. The only two negatives were a couple TV channels had mediocore reception and the rate on the internet did not match the rate we were charged ($20.00 more); upon questioning this, supposedly the rate is variable depending upon availability (however we were quoted the higher rate on the phone making the reservation, but my SO never questioned it). The fitness area, swimming area looked very enticing but we never made it down there; everyone we encountered was very pleasant.
