“Quite nice and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2011

We've previously stayed at another hotel and like Shaheen's better. Don't judge a book by it's cover: 1960's brick exterior, ugh. But inside very nice and clean. Good mattresses, fridge (not at all tiny), decent microwave, eco-bulbs and recycling. Very nice people, adequate "continental breakfast". The IGA supermarket is a 2 minute walk down the road. Combine that with the fridge and microwave, and life is good. We had a family room (a king, a queen and a sleeper couch) for $110 plus tax.

Tupper Lake is a sad town, 100 years past it's prime, more than 50% of the storefronts are "For Rent". But the area is amazing for outdoor pursuits (boating, biking...). Shaheen's is a clean, comfortable, welcoming and reasonable place to stay for those who don't want to camp. We will go there again.

Stayed here for a night while we were visiting the Wild Center with our grandchildren. Clean, quiet, friendly place. Staff helped with recommendations for kid-friendly places to eat in Tupper Lake. We will stay here again next time we are in Tupper Lake.

They have family rooms for those travelling with kids; those rooms are a little larger, and have two beds and a sleeper couch

normally my family and I camp for the Woodsmen Weekend, we go every year. but this year we decided to hotel it. i really enjoyed our stay. I work at a 4 star resort in the Catskill's, so I was very particular and looking at everything. I found our room very clean, neat and up to date, except for the air conditoner, which looked like it came from 1950. but it did work! and there was a lot of room for my 4 yr old to play. the bathroom was spacious, and the shower felt amazing! OVERALL..... great place to stay, and fun for the whole family. the Pool was amazing, and my daughter even learned how to swim in it! we will deffinately be back next year!!!!!

This motel was super clean. It smelled very fresh - no stale smell like some places. The owners were very friendly, hard-working, and accommodating to our needs. The price was great, too. Although it is older, every effort has been made to provide up-to-date features including wi-fi. Highly recommended,

Although Shaheen's is an older motel and I was apprehensive about staying there I found our room spotless. The refrigerator worked and was clean, the bathroom was immaculate and the grounds well kept.

It is not a luxury motel but fairly priced and the folks friendly.

Good room for a very good price. At time of original reservation they had no king beds available but were able to upgrade us prior to our arrival. If you want to use a pool, there's is very well kept.

Nice rooms, but horrible staff. They kept knocking on the door when I had the Do Not Disturb posted, and insisted the room needed to be cleaned every day, regardless. When I tried to call for a wake up call the woman was very rude and hung up. Also, I left my room key in the room when I went to the store really quick, they must have been waiting for me to leave because they immediately went in there to clean and took my key, I had to go back up to the front counter and wait for about 20 minutes for one of the staff to show up and return it to me.
