We have been to the Tap House probably 4 times over the past few years. On Saturday night, the bar is crowded and noisy in a good way. The food is reliably good. In the end, however, it simply does not break through to being a great place.
The menu is limited, but with some good options. My wife had flank steak which was tasty and tender. I had Nori Tuna which was more rare, even though I asked for more medium rare. We had a nice home-made ice cream sandwich for dessert.
The service was friendly, but not overly attentive. No one took a drink order for about 15--20 minutes, and we had to ask for bread and for water. We were seated in a booth by the bar which was a bit noisy. Ask to be seated up-stairs or in the back dining room. These have to be a bit more intimate.
Solid, but just not super.
