“Conveinent ,Warm and friendly, the grounds are beautifully kept”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2010

On a recent visit to the Finger lakes we stayed here as it was conviently located to many wineries in the area. Our hosts were warm and friendly. The property is well kept and the rooms are clean and cozy. The property offered wireless internet in our room which is always a plus for me and my wife. Breakfast was delicious and servered in front of a warm fireplace. To top it all off the property boasts a cedar soaking tub which when you give your hosts notice will be waiting for you when you return from your adventures. This is a great destination to go and relax!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Gothic Eves B&B. The hosting family was very friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Being in one of the suites meant we had our own TV and wet bar, which was nice to relax in after a long day of wine tasting. The wood fired hot tub is an absolute must. The breakfasts were wonderful gourmet style blends of fresh foods from the local farms and gardens.
The location of the B&B is ideally set right between Cayuga and Seneca lake wine trails, and is a short drive from both Watkins Glen and Ithaca. The town of Trumansburg itself was also very nice, with a few boutique shops and bars. The local state park was also close by. I highly recommend the Gothic Eves B&B to anyone planning a vacation in the Finger Lakes! Absolutely Perfect!

We stayed for one night and were pleased with our visit. Our room (Merlot) was well appointed with nice furnishings, ample closet space, ceiling fan, and a very comfy bed. After viewing the photos online, it was actually bigger than we expected. As for the rest of the house, it also was well cared for and furnished, offering various places (inside and out) to relax. The only downside about our room was that the window was very difficult to open. So much so that the owner offered to open it for us while we were out to dinner. We declined, but later wished we accepted her offer or simply had been able to open it ourself for better sleeping comfort (using the AC when it was in the 60s outside seemed silly). In the middle of the night, we kicked up the ceiling fan and were ok. All-in-all, we had a good night's sleep and were treated to a nice breakfast the following morning. While we didn't take full advantage of the grounds, other guests raved about the wood burning hot tub and other outdoor spaces. Also to note, the owner was very accessible (I think they live next door) and friendly.

...it would be Gothic Eves. A local in the CNY area, I decided to take a brief mini-holiday at Gothic Eves. Everything--from the beautifully-appointed guestroom, to the lovely skeleton keys that permitted me entry to the Victorian house and my room, to the wood-fired hot tub (epically relaxing and romantic), to the simple, yet elegant breakfasts--was charming. Rose and Roman, the wonderful proprietors of Gothic Eves, embody understated elegance and, more than anything, a passion for the beauty that can be found in local splendor (which can be found in a lovely Omelette adorned with local tomatoes, goat feta, and basil from their garden). Simply put, Gothic Eves was both relaxing and inspiring. Even though I live a mere hour from Gothic Eves, I will certainly be back!

The Inn at Gothic Eves was an excellent place to unwind after dropping our daughter off at college. Rose and Roman went out of their way to make us feel at home. The grounds of the inn, spread between the two houses that both have guest rooms, is simple and inviting. There are chairs and lounges on the patio at Potter House and chairs and a swing on the front porch at the Inn (Main house). Both are for all guests to use.
We stayed in the Red Parlor (Bordeaux Suite) room on the main floor of the Inn. The room was meticulously cared for and quiet. We spent time just reading and napping after being on the road for several days. It was very relaxing.
We had breakfast each morning on the patio overlooking the gardens. What drew me to Gothic Eves was the local organic gourmet breakfast promised on the website. The preparation, service and quality of the food did not disappoint. There were fresh herbs from right outside the window and we sat with other guests enjoying each others' company. A great start to the day.
Rose had excellent recommendations for restaurants and local activities that was important given our limited time. She even made the reservations. We felt very well taken care of.
I would definitely stay here anytime I'm in the region and looking for a relaxing, romantic getaway that is both luxurious and affordable.

We were unable, at short notice, to find a B&B in Ithaca and chose this inn in Trumansburg, about 10 miles away. The host, Rose, was very friendly and helpful. Her husband was away this weekend, so we didn't meet him, but Rose was assisted by her 14-year-old daughter. The inn consists of 2 old homes next door to each other, with plenty of attractive yard space between and behind. It was old, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were very good--there was enough good food to make it special, but not overwhelming in amount or sugar. Rose uses lots of locally grown and organic ingredients, which we appreciated. The peach preserves were homemade with peaches from their own orchard. Our room was very small, but cozy and nice. There's a nice small restaurant within walking distance in the village--the Hazelnut Kitchen.
