Absolutely beautiful 1829 historic home with decor that's classic, sophisticated and charming, not too ornate or museum-like, near Taughannock Falls. We stayed in the Serenity room, everything was perfect - absolutely clean, pillowtop king size bed, floor fan and window AC, small and quiet rock fountain below the mantle/where a fireplace would normally be. Bathroom was *immaculate*, I was so impressed (heck, the whole house was immaculate). Toiletries were provided, thick robes. There is a water dispenser in the hall as well as a beverage fridge and a larger fridge if you need to store a few items. The hosts, David and David, were absolutely sweet and we enjoyed our conversations with them, it made our stay there memorable. Breakfast was, as others have pointed out, in proper proportions and the presentation was excellent. There is a coffee bar set up with a Keurig machine if you want coffee/tea/hot water at anytime but they were more than happy to make regular coffee for us. There is a quiet rear porch/patio area where we sat outside and sipped Red Cat and Drambuie, it was very relaxing and it was just nice to have the option to sit outside. Very accommodating hosts, not over your should at all. We *will* be back some day, especially to see/pinch that artist's proof of a portrait of Katharine Hepburn in the Hallway - it was just gorgeous! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

That means average hotels were almost $200 a night. That makes staying at the Halsey House a steal, no joke. It's 15 minutes away from Ithaca and we had dinner at the BoatYard Grill which was straight down rt. 89, from the B&B. We actually contemplated staying a second night in our room but someone else reserved it already :/ Next time, it's two nights.
Ask about a room with windows not directly facing rt. 89. It's not noisy but sometimes a few lar...

Wow, thank you for that review. We wish that you could have stayed longer as it was a joy having you as guests and celebrating your recent marriage. Perhaps the cold winds of Denver will blow you back this way again and we will be able to renew our brief but delightful meeting...but Ms. Hepburn will be glued to the wall before than!!!! We send our best wishes to both of you for many happy years together.
