“Great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Last minute idea to go to Finger Lake area became a great find in a B&B. Jack is very attentive to his guests and makes you feel right at home. He has great suggestions on area restaurants and his breakfast was outstanding. Hope to return sometime.

We stayed at the Black Walnut because I had a bedandbreakfast.com gift certificate and we used it for the first night of our trip to the Finger Lakes. Unfortunately, we booked the remaining nights in a hotel. We were so disappointed with ourselves for not booking all nights with Jack at his charming b&b. We were the only guests on a Thursday evening, so we were upgraded to the king suite. The inn is older but beautifully renovated. Breakfast was delicious. Jack was a wonderful host. We will definitely return if we are ever back in the area.

This was a first stay at a B&B for my husband and I. It was a thoughtful Christmas gift from our son. The Black Walnut B&B was cozy, inviting, and home-like. Jack was the perfect host...offering us a glass of wine, talking to us and showing us around our suite and the inn. He offered to help us with maps and recommended places to visit and dine. The breakfasts were a culinary treat!!! All our needs were met and I would never hesitate to stay there again!!! Thanks Jack from Jon and Janice.

My husband and I and a group of our friends stayed here recently. It is a wonderful, cozy B&B. Jack was a wonderful innkeeper and made us feel at home. The rooms are all nicely decorated and clean. There is a guest kitchen stocked with all the necessities of home. The breakfast in the morning was phenomenal. We will definitely be making trips back to the Finger Lakes and Black Walnut Bed and Breakfast will most certainly be on the agenda! My husband and I are big fans of B&Bs and this definitely has been one of our favorites.

The reviewer was a part of a group of 8 that stayed at the Black Walnut B&B April 20th. Everyone in the group was fun, gracious, polite, and a pure joy for me as the innkeeper to have at our inn! Many thanks.

My husband and I stayed here this past September since we were in town for the German Fest at Lucas Vineyards and wanted to be located close by. Neither of us had ever stayed at a B&B before because we were unsure about how comfortable it would feel for us staying in someones home and sharing breakfast with strangers, forced conversation etc. I am including all this because I know there are many others who feel this way. Jack was a great host. Friendly but not intrusive. He welcomed us, offered us wine, showed us to our room and asked if we would like local recommendations for dinner. Coffee on the porch over looking the garden the next morning was lovely and breakfast was delicious! The seating in the dining room also allowed for private tables, which was a nice bonus for us. The house was older, but updated. The room nice and comfortable, and I also loved that they have a dog(Willie)because it made me feel more at home. Over all great first experience for us and we would absolutely go back again.

My husband and I stayed at the Black Walnut Inn at the end of September. Everything was great. The owner offered us a glass of wine as soon as we got there and showed us to our room, which was comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was in a separate room but was private to our room and was huge. The breakfast casserole the next morning was fantastic. We'd definitely stay here again next time we need a getaway.

Room Tip: The only problem I had with our room, the Owacso Room, was the traffic noise from the nearby state h...

We recently spent a weekend at the Black Walnut. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jack was a great host, he made sure we were comfortable, made restaurant recommendations for us, and introduced us to our new favorite wine! It's conveniently located, close to both the Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake wineries. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom was huge. Breakfasts were great, a fritata casserole with sausages and hash browns one day and french toast done Savannah style with bacon the next. We are certainly headed back there the next time we stay in the Finger Lakes!
