“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

I stopped in to grab a sub for the first time from this place this month and have been back twice since. This place serves quality meat and bread. The subs are loaded so they don't skimp on the portions. I will definitely be coming back. They also have a nice beer selection for a deli.

“How much is a big sub worth to you”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013 via mobile

I've been coming here for years and its stayed about the same. The subs are huge. Lots of meat and veggies as well as lots of choices. Pizza is ok too. But the service is really spotty. Everyone seems really stressed out and a bit rude. On my trip today, the staff were complaining to each other about staffing that evening and one young lady took a few seconds to answer a text before taking my order.

Basically, if you want a stacked sub at a decent enough price and don't care too awful much about service. I'd say go here

“Excellent Upstate NY Deli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

I ate there today for the first time. What a mistake for not going there sooner, as I have been attending the neighboring college for the past 18 months... just always drove past it. Set deep in its lot on the main street going by there, it is the sort of place you may not pay much attention to, even driving by there on a day to day basis like I do. It puts on no 'airs' inside or out (not a dive either... just unassuming).

Inside there is a large beer cooler along one side (has soda, juices, etc too), some groceries in isle shelving, a surprising amount of tables in the front (for the size of the place), with the other two walls being occupied by the deli, w/separate pizza counter.

The selection of deli sandwiches (full and half subs) is pretty extensive and follows what most delis offer. There is a daily special at a big discount that employs specialty fillings (not on the standard deli menu, but good stuff all the same). A variety of pizzas are made fresh there and then reheated when various slices are selected. Prices are very reasonable.

Being my first, but not last, visit there, I selected my personal bellwether... to gauge by ... sandwich hot pastrami w/tomato, lettuce, onion and mustard on a half sub roll. A bottled soda was purchased separately to wash it all down. To summarize, that was an extremely good sub! Very filling. As I write this, it is nine hours later and I have yet to feel the need to eat.

To provide a little more of a critical review of this personally well known meal & gauge against past ones here's some more detail: The bread was outstanding! As fresh as it gets. Slightly crunchy on the outside and soft within. The provided meat was generous. Lettuce was shredded iceberg (or similar)... perhaps a little too much, They went a little too light on the tomato and onion to my liking, but not enough to knock it down a notch. Similarly, they went a little too heavy on the mustard, but not enough to knock my satisfaction down a notch (came close there). All in all, a very enjoyable half sub that is keeping me fueled many hours later.

Staff is cool and joking. They are clearly having a good time with their job and know what they are doing. I don't know why another reviewer knocked them. Perhaps a little too demanding or he managed to offend them... but that is his problem.

All in all, a very enjoyable experience. I ate in and watched activities go on there. Patrons came in, got their orders (some large) and mostly buzzed out to take their prize back to wherever to consume. Some students ate in... obviously between classes with time to kill.

I will certainly be back there many more times trying out a big portion of their menu. Tomorrow's special is their sausage & peppers or "Killer Keller" turkey sub. Decisions, decisions....

“They need some polite people behind the counter”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

You pay a LITTLE bit more but the food is the bomb! I don't know if Anniecat2 was at the same place I was but the people behind they counter were the pits. They acted like they were doing you a favor by attending to you. And if the order is screwed up, IT'S YOUR FAULT. Excuse me for being stupid. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!
