This business prides itself in providing top quality fresh meats to the little town of Ticonderoga, in upstate New York. However it doubles as one of the best "to go" lunch stops in town. This is not known to many tourists as the place does not advertise a lot. But if you are perusing this site looking for information on your visit to Ticonderoga, you must stop here for some of their outstanding lunchables, there are few in town that can coompare.
Upon entering, although it is primarily a butcher/meat market, you will find that it is also a small food market with a fairly large area of the shop devoted to sub and sandwich creations.
We ordered our standard turkey sub. However, it was anything but standard! It was massive. Jammed with over an inch of premium turkey. It had all the fixins and they were fresh. The bread roll, was not too large and was soft. A beautiful soft, medium sized roll with great taste. I cannot stand hard rolls, secondly, places that use large rolls to fill you up instead of the stuff that goes in the middle that really counts.
When this sub was cut in half, it was more than sufficient for both of us. On top of this, this sub was $6.29, out the door!! I have eaten subs in other places in town. The Subway provides franchise standard subs. There is also Stewart's that does ok. But no one beats Two Brothers subs, nobody.
Hopefully Two Brothers will provide the ability to eat in, I sure hope so, because it is a nice environment to be in. Nice friendly people, a lot of local folks coming and going, and a few tourists. I could see sitting down for lunch and looking out the front window watching the street activity. But until that happens, go and get some take out, this is the next best thing and you will not be disappointed.
