After examining several menus from area restaurants, we decided on Eddies. Located half way between Hague and Ticonderoga Eddies appears along the dark road. Upon arrival we were asked if we had reservations, which we did not and were very politely asked to wait about 15 minutes while those with reservations were seated, no problem, we have waited a heck of a lot longer at a chain restaurant. Once our table was ready another apology for waiting. The menu was comprehensive and featured many homemade pasta dishes as well as the specialty prime rib. We both ordered the butternut squash bisque since it was a fall day and were not disappointed, a large bowl of this tasty and hearty soup would have made a meal, most excellent. I went for the prime rib and wife had the fettuccini Alfredo with grilled shrimp. The fettuccini was excellent and not a ridiculous amount, she still left with a box. The grilled shrimp was well seasoned and just right. My prime rib was cooked to order and the chef obviously knew how to use spices the meat was tender and very flavorful. We also sprung for deserts, a chocolate cake that would satisfy anyone’s addiction and a couple of cannolis served with whipped crème and chocolate sauce, both decadent and delightful with the cannoli shell still crunchy. We left stuffed. The restaurant is in an old building but is decorated in classic Adirondack with added fall decorations, old but tasteful. The wait staff was attentive and hustled on a fall night when the dining room was not quite full. I can imagine during the tourist season the place might be tough to get into and reservations would be a must. We will definitely go back.
