“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2008

We stayed on a Fri nite, and got a very good rate. We had a king suite, that was much smaller than Residence Inn, but was good for the price. I give Marriott credit, their site clearly states the square footage of each room. The "double suite" with 2 beds is much larger than the king suite, so if you have more than one child or just want more space you should book a double. Our suite had half wall that separated the bedroom from the sitting area. Kitchenette had small microwave and frig, but it we only made tea anyway. Bed was comfy, bathroom was clean, and breakfast was good. They even supplied small bags so that you could take breakfast to go. Breakfast incl yogurts, oatmeal, cereals, waffle maker, bagels, and they had fixings to make a breakfast sandwich -- eggs shaped in circle, sausage, cheese, and english muffins.
Room was neither large nor luxurious, but certainly was clean and comfortable. Staff was also very nice.

  • Liked — Price was reasonable, wireless internet access was free and effortless to use
  • Disliked — Suite was small, with sofabed extended it was cramped

We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding at Abigail Kirsch. It was very good value for a family of 2 adults/2 teens. The suite was quite spacious with enough space for everyone and a useful kitchenette. The free breakfast was a good bonus - hot eggs, sausage, a waffle station and all the usual cold offerings. We didn't have time to use the pool but it was there!!! The rooms were quiet and well sound proofed.
These hotels are not built as resorts or to be the height of luxury but for a stopover in predictable comfort they are hard to beat. Free wireless internet was nice too.
Would definitely stay with Springhill Suites again for a similar occasion.

We stayed 2 nights and will definitely stay here again. The front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. The breakfast was more than most hotels....eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles, muffins, bagels, juices, fresh fruit....and everything was kept very clean. We caught the free shuttle to the train station each day and called from the train on our return and it was there waiting for us when we arrived. This was a great place to stay outside of NYC and very convenient.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2008

We stayed here on a Saturday night. It was our second or third time here but we hadn't been back in the past year. The rooms no longer look "new." The quality of the linens, pillows, and beds is poor--they are still using the Jamison brand mattresses that we thought Marriott had abandoned because they are so far inferior to every other chain hotel. Our room was particularly small this time. To call it a "suite" is ludicrous. The furniture was much too big for the size of the room. It was also laughable (sadly) that this was a "handicapped" room because it was certainly difficult to negotiate your away around the furniture even without mechanical assistance. A wheelchair would have fit in the bathroom but nowhere else. On the positive side, the breakfast was surprisingly good and the entire hotel was quite clean. All in all, if the price had been $30 less than the $139 rate we were paying, we would not have had much to complain about. At the actual rate, however, this was not a good value and was about what we would expect of a Comfort Inn.

  • Liked — Breakfast and cleanliness
  • Disliked — Terrible beds, pillows, and linens and small room with big furniture

I spent one night at this hotel and loved it so much that I was sorry to leave the next day. The hotel was clean, attractive, friendly, and full of amenities.

What's not to like?
We had a great 3 day stay. Used the hotel as a jumping off point to tour NYC and the area.
We liked the smaller size hotel and the suite room (complete with ref, micro, sink and sitting room).
Would definitely stay there again.
