Very enjoyable stay. Room was clean, cozy with working fireplace and jacuzzi. Loved the breakfast. Simply delicious. Walking distance to town too.

Our cabin room was cozy (a little on the small side for the price), but had a high ceiling to give it a slightly bigger feel and was decorated nicely with artwork, rustic furniture and pine mouldings. We watched a movie from the free DVD library on the flat screen TV they provided. The TV picture was clear and there was full cable service. The bed was adequately comfortable, but it would have been nicer if they provided a pillow top or foam topped mattress. We placed some leftovers in the refrigerator on our first night there. When we returned from our adventures the next night, there was foul odor coming from the refrigerator, and we learned that the refrigerator did not stay cold and the food had rotted. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The nice restaurant at the bottom of the hill was excellent. The staff's recommendation was right on target. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent as well. Some foods were available for self service, and they cooked perfect made-to-order eggs, french toast, waffles, pancakes, etc. The location of the hotel was perfect. A few minutes by car to the ski resort or a short drive to Woodstock was all it took. Overall, the hotel helped make our vacation a good experience, and we intend to return in the summer.

Room Tip: Open the refrigerator to see if it is cold before you leave food in it overnight.

From the moment we arrived, until we left- our weekend stay was enjoyable, comfortable and pleasant. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms, which worked out well since we were traveling with our two dogs and able to walk right outside for "relief".

Amy (the Innkeeper) and staff were extremely helpful and answered to all our needs. The included breakfast is delicious- made fresh to order and served in the charming dining room.
The only request we would have is next time a fire be made in the morning to help add warmth and coziness to the breaskfast experience.

My husband, 11 yr old son and I discovered this Hotel last year and hesitated to write a review because we didn't want the secret to get out... But we must confess it is Great! The owners could not be lovelier, the rooms are impeccable and the amenities just what we need. We have stayed in several different rooms and have loved each one. With benefits like the great breakfast, the lounge area with movies to borrow (not rent!) and free water bottles, the Hotel Mountain Brook has become our home away from home.

I stayed here last Christmas and will be staying here again this Christmas. The hotel is very cozy with the fireplace and rustic. Very new and the staff was pleasant. I am glad to see the prices come down a little this year though from last year.

Went up for the weekend of hiking and just general relaxation. I highly recommend this place. The people were extremely friendly, the food was great, my boyfriend has celiac disease and they were extremely accommodating. The facilities were really nice, fireplace, jacuzzi, tv, complementary snacks. It is a short drive from many activities, skiing, hiking, Main st is just right down the road with plenty of shops and restaurants for lunch and dinner. I will definitely be back!

We were staying in a B&B in Hunter, and noticed the HMB while driving by. We decided to check it out and were so impressed, we left the other B&B (losing a prepaid night) and raced back to the Hotel Mountain Brook to salvage our weekend.

The hotel is decorated in a very clean but homey Arts and Crafts / Eastlake style. We were hard-put to choose between hanging out in the sitting room or our own room, both of which had easily-lit gas fires.

We found the staff to be the perfect combination of responsive but unobtrusive, so we felt we had privacy without feeling abandoned.

Try to be hungry for breakfast: everything was very fresh and the portions very generous, especially the pancakes.

Looking forward to going back!

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor in a room (I think it was #7) with high ceilings and views in three dir...
