“Worth a stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

A nice change of pace from the usual restaurant scene and rapidly becoming one of my favorites. I have been there several times and it's always good. You get a nice variety of all different kinds of food to try. One hint, take your time in ordering. The temptation is to order everything at once and then it all comes out way too fast and you get stuffed. Order two things, then order another two etc. My one complaint is the cold. For some reason the cold air and there has been plenty this year, blasts through the front door and a lot of folks are eating with coats. Not the best scene. The metal chairs don't help much in that regard either so until they get this fixed or until spring gets here, try and eat in the back of the restaurant.

“Global tapas in an industrial setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

A tapas style restaurant with a global flair, offering small plates of food from Detroit-style Coney dogs to fish tacos, chicken and waffles to Thai chicken lettuce wraps.
Everything we tried was delicious: the Caprese salad, pan seared sea scallops over greens, mac and four cheese gratin, beef tenderloin, deep dish square white pizza and the best creme brulee I've ever tasted.
It was very crowded and lively on a Friday night, and almost too noisy to have any kind of extended conversation. That was the only downside as the food was great and quite reasonably priced (although some of our food was part of a prix fixe menu for Restaurant Week). It's a large, long converted factory, industrial-type space, with exposed brick and pipes. Certainly worth a try, perhaps during the week or at lunch if it's less crowded then.

“Dining Week fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

I was part of a large group that went to Small Plates for the Dining Week menu. Food offerings were very good. Beef sliders on the pretzel rolls is my favorite. I sampled the fried chicken and waffles and loved that too. Several in our group had never been to Small Plates and Dining Week provides the perfect opportunity to try new places without spending a lot.

“Yummy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2014

Had a girls night out at small plates. Great food and drinks. The bartender and our waitress were very attentive. My only tiny complaint would be to have tem turn the heat up...ot was freezing in there!

“Small Plates...Great Flavours...Super Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

Just ate here and what a super find. We are visiting Syracuse and it was a Sunday night. Many places in the Armoury District were closed but this place was open and did we ever luck out. It was not busy (Snow and Sunday night!) but this place was great. The food is all meant to share so the portions are anything but small. Make sure you go here hungry and try lots of different dishes to experience some very talented chefs work. Don't miss out on the Fried chicken and waffles...yeah you read it right! Will be pulling a Schwartzeneggar on this place as "I'll be back!!"
