“Memorable food at an affordable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Came to Syracuse to treat my daughter and son-in-law to a relaxing night away from college stress. It was inviting on a cool, rainy night, the food incredible and the pie, memorable. We parted with warm hugs and smiles- thanks, Riley's!

“A fun neighbourhood establishment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were visiting a nearby B&B and the host recommended Riley's. We would never have found it on our own. It's located in a residential neighbourhood with lots of character. We arrived on a Friday night at about 8:00 p.m. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but enjoyed a generous glass of house wine for $5 (white and red both good). The place was hopping, with a fun atmosphere. The menu had lots of fish on it, because it was fish Friday. You couldn't get a lot of their other fried selections on Friday though, I guess because they were using the oil for frying fish? You can also split an entree, which allows you to sample some appetizers. They bring a basket of delicious bread (Irish soda bread maybe?). We shared crab cakes (recommend), cold Asian noodles (a little bland) and then an order of fish and potato chips. The fish was excellent, but I would really have preferred real French fries rather than chips. The highlight was dessert. We shared a pumpkin cheesecake that was light, fluffy, and delicious, served with a generous dollop of real whipped cream. The staff was attentive and friendly. Our bill with tip (not including alcohol) came to $50.00, but remember, we shared one order of everything. I would recommend this restaurant to friends, and I would definitely return if I am back in the area.

“Consistently very good.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012 via mobile

We had another very good lunch at Riley's this week. One of the few places that still has Bass Ale on tap, not sure why but many places have taken it out. The waitresses are lots of fun, although it took a while to get ours to recommend a special, but the tuna melt was really good! That place is always bust and has a menu that varies every day. We have group of 6 guys and we go there about every other month.

Sauteed mushroom and fried zucchini appetizers were a true treat! Had chicken breast with Gorgonzola and mushroom sauce. Yummy

Very different menu items and great presentation. Good homestyle food, fun atmosphere, lots of laughs, always a good time.
