“Excellent Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011 via mobile

The place is not much to look at and the dining area is small and crowded. I sat at the bar and the bartender Micheal was very good and acknowledged you right away even though he was extremely busy.

I had the clam chowder which was good, for my main course I had the king crab and was not disappointed at the taste or price for one pound at $24 came with a salad, bread and potato. The italian dressing was homemade and highly recommended.

You will not be disappointed if you visit this restaurant and the regulars are very friendly and made you feel like you have gone their for years.

“Popular Seafood Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2011

My wife & I met friends at The Clam Bar for dinner. It was our first time but it is a regular stop for my brother-in-law & his wife when they visit Syracuse. The restaurant seating is crowded as there are as many tables & booths as they can fit into the small place. The restaurant is a popular place in the Syracuse area for seafood.

The service was good and the food was served with not much waiting. They serve all of the typical seafood fair. They do a good job in preparing and serving seafood. Some items that are seasonal, such as salt potatoes, a Syracuse favorite, are not on the menu. We found out by asking the waitress.

You go thru the light and park over in the back near the auto service place, if that doesn't bother you, then walk in the rear door. YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!
This is VERY CLOSE to Rt. 81, easy off, easy on again. Theresa at Hampton Inn in nearby Liverpool, NY gave us this tip .. Thanks Theresa!!

“Hole in the wall.. NOT!”

One of those diamond in the rough style restaurants that doesn't look like much from the outside but surprises you with the quality of food and service. Food was delicious and well priced.

“The best around.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2011

It looks like a big converted garage from the outside, but inside it's nice and cozy. Typical ocean theme with lots of fish taxidermy. I've eaten here many times and can honestly say I've never had anything that wasn't at least very good. I've also eaten here many times and had spectacular meals. Seafood reigns supreme, but the Renata chicken wings( not Buffalo style) are fantastic. This place is worth driving a few miles to visit. Dinner for 4 with drinks, 1 dessert and 1 app. and tip was @ $100.00. Not exactly cheap but well worth it.
