We have been to Anthony's twice in the past 6 months or so and could not wait to share our experience with Trip Advisor. Our weird schedule poses the challenge of finding restaurants that are open on Mondays - so we were grateful for the lovely decor, funky music, low lights, comfy booths and smiling staff...........(hint: finding a place to park in Hanover Square - always a problem - is not so bad on Mondays). The bar is small and nice but it doesn't seem to be a place people come to hang out - more like a place to pick up a pizza (really good, by the way) or say hello to an employee. There's a 2nd room easily used for private parties or holiday events - beautiful!
We have not found a fresh fish offering on our Monday excursions and wonder if that applies all week - however we have found creative and exciting specials and a house menu that is heavy on pasta (it is a pasta bar) and fun. The salads were fresh and innovative - walnuts made mine. The shrimp scampi was the best my mother ever had - buttery and garlicky. She was thrilled - and so was I. It was her birthday and we wanted her to be happy. Our waiter was a charmer both visits (different guys) and the whole staff was happy to be there - convivial and friendly. A nod to the waiter and a glass of wine appeared. This is difficult to find in Syracuse!! Thanks Anthony's for a memorable meal (and the parallel parking assistance - you know who you are!).
