“A casual dining experience close to home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Whenever my date wants to eat out and not drive to the city this is the place of choice. We're fans of their Haddock dinner even though we know that they have other good meals. Our waitresses even know that I have mustard on my fish rather than tartar sauce. It's not surprising to find a familiar face; a neighbor, high school friend, etc. dining there also which always enhances the dining experience. It's not pricey which allows this to be a once-a-week treat.

“Nothing to rave about”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

The place needs to be cleaned. If they try to seat you in the back refuse as it stinks like something died. The wallpaper is actually peeling off the walls in the back. The hot ham is so hot you can't even enjoy it. They need to go back to making it like they did 15 years ago. The prices are on the high side and the meals do not come with salad. Drinks-soda and coffee are also pricey. If you order pie, you will have a heap of topping with little pie. The waitress' are very nice.

“Needs some tips from Gordon Ramsay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Cute old timey place but food feels like cooks are going through the motions. It's a little pricey for what you get and quality is mediocre at best. Decor is kitchy and hasn't been changed probably sinced place opened. Desserts seem to be the "draw" and they looked good. The upside was server was very nice. Food could definitely use some improving.

“I'm a local and I love Eddies!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Wow - I am shocked to read the reviews of Eddies! We eat here all the time and have never had a bad meal!

For those that complained about the hot ham, let me help you out, ask for the roll separately so you can build your own sandwich with however much of the juice you want to use.

The fish sandwich and fish dinner are both excellent but if you get the dinner, make sure you are hungry as you'll get a lot! Same thing for the chicken and biscuits dinner on Sundays - I always have enough for at least one more meal and then some. Other favorites are the club sandwich, the "Fifi" which is beef and pork simmered in a tomato sauce and the eggplant rollatini. Yes, alot of the food is fried but there are plenty of good choices that aren't as well.

The pies, what can I say about the pies? Yum, yum, yum! The cream pies have a pile of fresh whipped cream on top, real bananas in the banana cream and nice deep chocolate flavor in the chocolate one. I'm not as big a fan of the cakes but maybe that's just because the pies are so good.

“Not Worth Going to”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Visited a few years ago and didn't like it--went back to give it a second chance. Still do not understand why there is frequently a line out the door. Service only ok--food over-priced and mediocre at best. One of us ordered a pasta with garlic sauce--nothing came with it--she had to pay $6 something extra for a salad of iceberg lettuce and a couple cherry tomatoes. Fries were overcooked. Shrimp dinner had a total of six medium sized shrimp. Don't go----
