“Good solid Mexican and nice atmosphere.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013 via mobile

I am not sure i am drinking the five star cool aid on this one.... This place serves solid average Mexican on any given night. Similar to taste and feel of Mexican you used to be served at the fiesta places before they went down the toilet. This is not fine dining and nothing makes it on the menu that is anywhere near " outside the box". The standouts on the menu would be the ceviche and the bacon wrapped shrimp entree. Some more traditional fare like burritos etc.... Can be found in better form at one of the other 10 Mexican restaurants within a blocks radius of this one.

That said, the ambiance in this restaurant is better than any of the others in the area... Tetacotta tiles and a fun place to bring the family or a date.... Likely the best Mexican restaurant in the area but not a culinary five star place.

“Average Mexican food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

I've eaten at this restaurant several times before an outdoor film festival at a nearby theater. On these nights, at least, the restaurant is quite crowded and a little noisy, and the service is rather poor. I must acknowledge that the crowd and poor service may not be representative of most week nights, which may be less busy. However, on the most recent visit, the staff seemed to forget to bring the dinner for one member of our party until we finally flagged a waiter and asked about it.
The food is nothing special. The carne asada appears to be a thin loin steak of an inferior grade. The enchiladas de mole poblano were tasty enough, but arrived accompanied by cold refried beans. Sady, this may still be the best Mexican restaurant in Suffern.

“Outstanding!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

One of the best restaurants in Suffern. The ambiance is nice, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive. We love this place and the prices are very reasonable. Make sure you get the guacamole made table side as an appetizer.

“great mexican restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

We went to Hacienda for my 6 year olds birthday. She loves this place. I had the steak fajita, which was great, my husband had chicken covered in a cheese sauce, the chicken was as big as the plate. It has a very good children's menu (quesadilla, chicken fingers) and excellent red sangria. We went early, about 5:00 no a Saturday night. By the time we left at 6:15, it was packed. the prices are reasonable and the waiters very nice. I would definitely recommend, This is our favorite mexican restaurant in rockland.
