Through the years, I've heard good and bad about Ciro's food and never patronized the restaurant until a friend highly recommended them recently. I thought it was time to see for myself whether this place was really what my friend talked it up to be. The place was very busy on Friday night with both their take out and dine in service. We didn't feel like waiting for a table, so we chose to order a pizza pie and the calamari to go. The calamari was excellent, very fresh, cooked perfectly, not oily and with just the right amount of crispiness. The dipping sauce that came with it was very good. As far as the pizza, I wasn't impressed at all. I found it to be average. The crust was very thin, in fact floppy, and not crispy but the tomato gravy was good. In all fairness, they have an extensive menu and there might be some other hidden treasures other than the calamari but the pizza was humdrum.
