Let me start off by saying that this is a Holiday Inn Express. Don't expect a 5 star hotel. The only reason I rated it very good was because of the people who work there. In this day and age, I run into great customer service less and less.
The hotel is your basic budget hotel. It has a tiny lobby, the rooms are small and there's not much to it. We stayed here for 3 nights and it suited our needs.
The front desk staff was extremely helpful. Eveyrone we talked to was pleasant, took their time and went above and beyond for us. They gave us restaurant recommendations, directions, utensils, and whatever else we asked. It was a pleasant surprise for a hotel at this price point.
The free breakfast was good. The "breakfast guy", Steve, was very friendly, helpful and attentive. You can tell he really takes pride in his job. They have cereals, bagels, fruit, bacon or sausage, eggs and a pancake machine. Yes a machine that makes pancakes. Steve was very proud of that. The only negative on the breakfast was that the juices from the juice machine seemed watered down. Other than that, Steve stole the show.
The room was a basic hotel room. It was definitely on the small side. It was clean and it served the purpose. The water pressure in the bathroom was very good and we never ran out of hot water. The only issue we had was our room was right next to the elevator and we could hear it all night long.
All in all, it was a very average hotel but it was very refreshing to see a staff take pride in their hotel, demostrate above average social skills and actually care about their customers.
