“Outstanding Travel Experience”

We just returned from a 16 day customized tour of Morocco arranged and carried out by Experience It! Tours. The experience was absolutely wonderful, not only because of the marvelous country of Morocco, but also because of the superb services of the company in providing the tour for us.

We first learned about this company through Trip Advisor, where the reviews of other travelers who had used Experience It! Tours were extremely positive. Our dates of travel to Morocco were already set, and the company worked within this time frame to arrange all the things we wanted to do. The agent we worked with, Aaron Johnson, made some suggestions for our itinerary that would not have occurred to us and we found that all of his recommendations were excellent. The fact that he, as well as other company agents, live and work in Morocco gives their recommendations credibility. They know whereof they speak!

The only negative aspect of our trip was the loss of our luggage en route from the US to Morocco. Delta Airlines was responsible for losing the luggage and it took eight days to track it down and have it delivered to us in Morocco. Incredibly, the bag went to England, to Spain, and to Germany (that we know about) before arriving in Casablanca. Because of the efforts of the staff of Experience It! Tours we were eventually able to be reunited with the luggage. Their agent, Saliha, deserves special credit for the magnificent job she did in finding the bag and getting it to us. The Manager, Jeff Wilson, and his sister, Jill, also deserve kudos for their help. Jeff even made arrangements for a driver to pick up the baggage at the airport in Casablanca and deliver it to us in Fes. Another colleague, John Findley, even offered to let me borrow a pair of jeans if needed! Our driver, Khalid Abou El Allam, also spent many hours taking us back and forth to the airport in our failed efforts to retrieve the bag on our own. He also helped took us to markets to buy replacement clothing until our luggage arrived. All this is service was above and beyond what of most travel companies would do.

Speaking of our driver, Khalid, we cannot say enough about him. He was more than a driver, he was also a guide--and a friend. We found him to be a fount of information about the country, its history, the culture, the foods, the government, etc. One of the things we enjoy most when visiting other countries is learning about the people and their culture. The guidebooks, however, can tell one only so much. We have found that the greatest source of information comes from interacting with those who live in the country. Khalid was very forthcoming in telling us about life in Morocco, his personal background, and his family. He also introduced us to others along the way who shared their life experiences with us. We pummeled him with questions and he always responded freely, graciously, and pleasantly. Although he has been a driver (shall we say, guide) for a number of years, he is not jaded. Instead, he seems to take great joy in sharing his culture with his clients. We felt that the experience was reciprocal; Khalid appeared to enjoy learning from us about our culture--which we were happy to share. Khalid was probably the safest driver we have ever had in our travels, and he was sensitive to our wishes and eager to meet our every need.

The accommodations during the trip were wonderful. We especially enjoyed staying in the riads in Morocco--a truly unique experience which we would recommend to everyone. The hotels we used were also superb. The hotel Royal Mansour Meridian in Casablanca featured all the amenities of hotels in this chain. But the Kasbah Xaluca in Erfoud and the Xaluca Dades, near Dades Gorge, were outstanding; actually they were resorts that cater to every desire of the visitor. Perhaps the most memorable overnight experience was sleeping in the Sahara Desert in Berber tents, following a two hour trek to the oasis by camel. We will never forget the beauty of the desert, the silence of the night, the clarity of the sky and the stars, the kind hospitality of our guide, Moha, and the good food prepared by him and his friends. Anyone going to Morocco should not miss this experience!

Experience It! Tours is a first-class, family-run company that gives personalized attention to each client from the first inquiry through the conclusion of the trip. The company lives up to its name--the clients who visit Morocco are, indeed, able to fully "experience it" because of the services of this organization. Experience It! Tours is unsurpassed in quality among organizations that arrange tours, and we heartedly recommend the company to anyone who is considering visiting Morocco.

“Experience it Tours MAKES MOROCCO EASY and Affordable”

I just returned from an 8 day customized tour to Morocco visiting the four imperial cities, Rabat,, Meknes, Fes, Marrekech After working with their staff for nearly 9 months, the trip came and went without a hitch. Their staff is knowledgeable and very friendly. They made the language barrier easy since I didn't speak French nor Arabic. Our driver Ehmed was the BEST!! Not only was he a great driver, but he spoke perfect English and provided direction in an otherwise chaotic country.

The People in Morocco were very nice but it was the planning on this 5 Star trip which made it go without a hitch. The Riads are the way to go as we stayed in two places: Fes, Riad Maison Bleue and in Marrakech Riad Kniza. Both places were over the top in terms of facilities and location but the people at Riad Kniza were a bit more engaged in making sure your needs were met. They both were FANTASTIC properties.

Experience it Tours made this north African country real and affordable.

“What an awesome experience”

I just have to write a review because I was one of the ones that trawled this site before we went on our trip and gained such valuable feedback from it. Experiece It was simply fabulous from our very first contact until we arrived back home in NZ. Originally we looked through a travel agent for Morocco but were really disappointed to find that most companies-the popular ones-didn't want to know us with our two girls aged 8 and 10. So I started the job of looking online and it quickly came down to Experience It Tours. They were the first ones to respond and offered such great suggestions with detailed itineries etc to choose from. The contact we had from them was great and the information pack they sent us was superb. And they lived up to our expectations perfectly. Our driver Hisham was excellent and looked after us well and was great with the kids. We were a bit nervous about going to such a different country/culture-compared with NZ!-but our fears were unfounded. The people were so friendly and we had no problems whatsoever with the children. They found it a bit inimidating in the souks with all the people-they also got a lot of attention from the guys being fair young girls-but after a while they got used to it and relaxed. Not once did we feel unsafe or threatened. The accomodation that was put together for us was fantastic-we had some top class places. Riad Omar in Marrakesh was awesome-not the most fancy, but located right by the square and they looked after us well-we stayed 2 nights at the start of our tour and again 1 night at the end and that was like coming home! Kasbah Lamrani by the Todra Gorge was absolutely amazing-we had two rooms beside each other and the girls were happy to stay on there own-top class with delicious food and an awesome breakfast. Going on the desert trip would have to be the highlight-absolutely fantastic experience that you have to do if you are coming to Morocco. The guides that took us out were fantastic and we were looked after so well. The sleeping arrangements out there blew us away-we expected a mat on the sand under the stars-but instead got welcomed-with mint tea of course-to a carpet lined tent camp and we each had a mattress with pillows, sheet and blanket and even candles in our tent!! This was an awesome part of our trip that we will never forget-including a 3 course meal after we arrived. Riad Jaouhara in Fez was brilliant also-we had been recommended to upgrade to this if we could and it is well worthwhile. The only hiccup here was that we were given two rooms on different floors and opposite sides of the building and the kids weren't comfortable with this-nor us. Upon inquiring we were told this couldn't be changed as other rooms were fulll. The rooms are so huge and amazing that the kids ended up sleeping on the daybeds in our room-so was ok-and the food here was amazing-very central place too. Our hotel in Rabat was the only place that was pretty budget-and there was confusion as our voucher had one place on it but the drivers itinery had another! Very tired hotel and the food and service was below average. The guides that we had on different days were all fantastic with a wealth of knowledge and were great with the girls and we learnt so much from them-this really made the trip as with kids this could have been a drag but they stayed interested the whole time. The food we had was unreal-no problems there-and our driver organised a traditional pizza for us in Rissani before we went into the desert. We wondered about this as we had to buy the meat from the market-pretty third world-then take it with some spices etc to be baked in the pizza oven at the bakers. It was absolutely divine although quite spicy, and our tummies did know that we had had some pretty different food -but nothing drastic!! Our worst fear with the kids was that they would get a tummy bug or something but we had not one problem the whole time we were away. So overall we had a fantastic experience and really did 'Experience It' thanks to the company and there planning and contact. We have some fabulous photos and videos and have already had one 'Moroccan Night' at our house for family with a tagine and couscous and our videos of our time away! We would love to come back again some time and see the things we couldn't fit in-and some of the same again too! Thanks again to all the team at Experience It Tours for making such a memorable trip for our family-keep up the great work.

“Morocco with Experience It! Tours”

Morocco is not a usual destination for travellers from Australia and we had to spend some time on the internet sifting through and evaluating the many European tour operators. It quickly became apparent that Experience It Tours was by far the most professional and the one upon which we decided. Our decision was proved correct, as the trip took some time to put together and entailed many emails. Aaron, who was our contact, could not have been more patient and helpful and eventually it all came together.
On the ground arrangements worked out perfectly. Our guide, Yousef, was a fount of knowledge about his country. He also proved a great travelling companion and a cautious driver - something to be thankful for on some of the roads we encountered. The sights and trips which had been explained to us before we left all lived up to the descriptions given, and the accommodation was up to our expectations of the grade chosen. All in all it was a great experience, greatly enhanced by the professionalism shown by the company. I have no hesitation in recommending Experience It Tours for anyone wishing to tour Morocco.

“An exceptional "Experience"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2010

My recent vacation consisted of a week in Andalusia in Spain and a week in Morocco with my 17 year old daughter. I had already booked some of my trip in Morocco when I decided to include an excursion to the desert which I booked through Experience It. What a great decision!

They were extremely professional and thorough in the booking process and leading up to the trip and the trip itself lived up to and surpassed my expectations. I was wondering what it would be like having a private driver I had never met for 4 days. Driss was extremely professional, polite, respectful and knowledgeable. I am sure I must have driven him crazy with all my questions but he never showed it. His English was excellent too and he was a very safe driver. By the end of the trip it was sad to say goodbye to him. He made the trip very special and we always felt we were in very capable hands.

Only 2 of the nights we booked through Experience It (one in a hotel in the Dades valley and the night in tents in the dunes). The hotel was amazing and the whole dunes experience was magical. The Auberge where the camels left from was a very unique experience (especially in low season). Everyone there was sleeping laying all over the place when we arrived late afternoon (it was HOT!), both the employees and guests. The guides on the camel trek and at the tents were extremely entertaining and charming (maybe because they were young guys and I had my 17 year old daughter?). The stars in the desert were amazing so we slept outside rather than in the tent. It was all perfect.

The selections for meals on the trip were great too. I nice combination of hotel restaurants and some places frequented more by locals. None of it was that expensive and all delicious with good variety.

I am very glad I booked through Experience It. I normally like to make my own arrangements, do my own driving etc. but in Morocco, it is much better to have an experienced guide. I wish I had more time in Fes which is trully beuatiful (and the medina seems much less crazy than Marrakech due to them not allowing motorized traffic in it), but that was my planning. I wish we had more time in Morocco in general and in retrospect maybe should have booked the whole trip through Experience It. Maybe next time (inshallah!).

All in all a great "Experience" and great value for money for a really special trip. I will definitely recommend using them to anyone I know.
