“Good value, clean spacious rooms, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

We stayed here in May after a horrendous stay at the nearby Capri Hotel (Capri had no hot water & terrible customer service) caused us to move locations.

The room at the Southampton was clean and spacious, Luis on the front desk was really helpful and friendly. The lock to our apartment broke and they had a locksmith here within minutes to fix it.

One word of note - the pool was pretty cold in May - but still we managed to swim!

Booked this hotel a few months in advance so I could take my family to the Hamptons over Memorial Day weekend and celebrate my birthday. First, we were allowed to check in early, I booked two rooms and they were both ready and immaculate upon arrival. Check in was easy and seamless, it was a nice touch to be escorted to the room by Luis (I hope I've spelled your name correctly!), rather than someone just pointing us in the right direction. Pool was refreshing and enjoyable, location was quiet and although some of the other reviews mentioned sounds from the restaurant next door, we heard none. Our only issue was that our room had no cold water. A little weird, I know but Monday evening and Tuesday morning the water out of the shower was scalding hot. We had someone come look at it Monday evening and were able to shower with the least amount of water pressure possible, but Tuesday at 8am, since we were checking out, we just didn't bother to complain again.
Overall, we enjoyed the price, location and staff and will be back later this summer with the whole family! Thank you Luis for your helpful information on local restaurants, etc. See you soon!

We have forgotten a jacket in a bedroom, and realised it as we were back to France.
They have sent it to us by Mail. That s the KIND OF SERVICE WE DO NOT SEE ANYMORE.
The reception team has accepted to loose time for us , as they are not garanted we may come back due to the distance.

I agree with previous reviews, this is more of a motel than a hotel. Its location is not the best one either, as it is not right "in town". On the other hand, if you have a car it is an option to consider. Our room was comfortable, the staff was very nice and friendly and the hotel was clean overall.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Southampton. As other reviewers have stated, this is a motel...not a hotel, so set your expectations appropriately. The property is on a single level with outdoor entrance to all rooms.

We and our two older children stayed in room A, the two bedroom suite. The room was large enough to accommodate the four of us comfortably. The kitchenette area would have been better if it had a stove, but there was a full sized refrigerator and an compact microwave. We were told the the village does not allow stoves in hotel rooms. Each room had a queen bed, and there was an additional sofa bed in the common area.

Marta and Gorda (sp?) we're delightful! They could not have been more helpful, providing us with insights intto the area and explicit driving directions. There was fresh coffee in the lobby each morning, and we were always greeted with a smile.

Again, it is important to remember this is a motel and it is located on a relatively busy street. We never had any problems with traffic, but there is a bit of road noise. Prices are a high, but this is Southampton and we felt like the value of the location and customer service justified the expense.

Thanks again to Marta and Gorta for making our 'Southampton Escape' feel very special..

Booked this "hotel" because the rating wasn't too bad on Booking.com / Tripadvisor.
The village of Southampton is an upmarket, picturesque, village with beautifully manicured lawns and hedges. Mansions line the leafy streets and lanes.
So I was not expecting that when we arrived we would find it to be more Motel than Hotel. The room we were given was right on the highway and the bedroom tiny. I expected much better accommodation for the amount the room cost (more like New York rates!). I have stayed in far better places for half the price in the USA. The pictures shown on the booking.com website do not look like the room we got.
There was a kitchenette of sorts - no handles on the drawers or cupboards so not functional.
No kettle, plastic cups supplied to drink from. 4 x mini shampoos in the bathroom - no soap!
I did ask to be moved but apparently they were full so could not offer an alternate room.
On the positive side - apart from feeling like the Bates Motel - the linen was clean and the were staff friendly (although unable to rectify the room problem).

Room Tip: If you get past reading the review and STILL want to book here - make a note that you DO NOT WANT ro...

We just spent another memorable weekend in the Hamptons. And we found our favorite hotel for future getaways! It is spotless clean and must have been recently renowated with fraction of the cost of other hotels in Southampton. We loved the pool at night with lights and lots of privacy. Staff is great with plenty of tips for dining and activities in the area. I noticed the previous review with complaints and it seems like whoever wrote it must have had a terrible day or something....nothing seems to be true. I did see some rooms with the street view but they are definitely not on the street...some people exaggerate for no reason. Anyway we loved the place and by the way, photos are exactly what the rooms look like. We are coming back in September. Cant't wait!
