Had tried a room at the motel in the past but neer stayed the night as the condition of the room was just not for us. We did enjoy the restaurant and the small, private beach on the bay. The weather was beautiful this past Columbus Day weekend and so we decided to head out to the North Shore. We booked a room in the main house/Inn this time. Same experience as last time upon booking - somewhere between rude and nicer but ineffective..yet when we arrived there, we were treated a little bit better at the actual desk (and they finally found our reservation..which was misplace for a moment there). At any rate, we enjoyed a very nice lunch on the porch and an equally nice dinner in the main dining room in the inn, so for us, food has never been the issue there...has been consitently good, for quality, presentation and service. The issue for us is lodging...the motel rooms are not for us, so we tried a room in the inn this time. Room Eight was located over the restaurant and had views of the bay (in the distance). The size of the room and bathroom were fine and we didn't hear any of the bustle from the restaurant/bar below us at all. The walls between the rooms were not as well sound-proofed and so we heard just about everything that went on in Room Nine when our neighbors checked in at about 11:30pm..right up until they went to sleep. The room itself had such potential, but once again we found worn carpet, outdated comforter set, scratchy linens, super hard mattress, small tube style TV, old soda stains (or something) on the wall ...the bathroom was clean enough, but again, not spotless and all that was provided were two small motel size bars of soap, a few thin towels and TP. Overall, the room in the inn was better than the room at the motel part of the property, but we probably would not stay there again as it does not appear that anything will be changing/updated at that property any time soon. The lodgings there should not be considered luxurious or even charming...set your expecatations that it is a place to crash after the beach and a good meal. Why we keep giving it another chance is well, probably the reason everyone else may be...they have the bay...a private little beach and a pretty nice restaurant.
Room Eight had a distant view of the Bay and a large enough bathroom
