this is a marvelous, well-tended display with a breathtaking view of Lake Ontario and, when open, offering invaluable educational background on this importance of this site

“A nice lighthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

The museum was closed when we visited so we only saw the outside. It is a beautiful lighthouse on well-kept grounds. Well worth a stop if you are in the area.

“Steeped in history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

I found this at sundown and the light was on. I can well imagine the importance of this building over the years. The property that it sets on was well taken care of and inviting. When I posted a photo of it someone said it would be the perfect photo for a jigsaw puzzle. Next to it, on the same lot, there is a marker indicating where the original lighthouse stood. From their website, it looks like they have events that take place there.

“Nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

The museum was closed when we visited on a Monday, but we really enjoyed the views from the well kept grounds. The lighthouse itself seemed well cared for. We enjoyed the view of Chimney Bluffs, which we had visited earlier in the week. We then made our way down to the breakwater and walked out into the harbour and viewed the lighthouse from the water. It was all very pleasant.

“Lovely little lighthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

This is a lovely little lighthouse with neat attractive grounds. The admission price is reasonable and the guides were very informative. There were many items of interest on display and then you could climb into the lighthouse tower. But the tower is quite small. You can see the currently active lighthouse and also Chimney Bluffs in the distance. there is a small gift shop with interesting items. Well worth a stop.
