Description: Our dining incorporates the spirit of wellness and balance by spotlighting local products and organic whenever feasible. We take great care to support the farm-to-table concept and use the culinary talents of our team to incorporate daily baked goods, New York State beef, Finger Lakes produce and cheeses into your stay with us. The Dining Room at Mirbeau takes the form of The French Steakhouse every evening when the lights are dimmed and the music gets a little progressive. Classic pleasures like East- and West-Coast oysters, table-side Caesar Salad as well as seafood flown in fresh daily complement the variety of French comfort foods and in-house dry-aged beef on our seasonal menu. Have fun sharing sides to accompany your steaks or seafood and you might even find yourself having to defend your soufflé against others’ advances. Attire is relaxed and refined with no particular need to go with (or without) a jacket or tie.

“Don't go for breakfast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

This was near our motel and we planned on a good breakfast before driving home. What a mistake. While the dining area was beautiful overlooking the koi pond and gardens the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the "European" style breakfast. We've been to Europe so we expected the good hearty style we had there. Our server brought coffee and juice and gave us each a plate and directed us to where the food was. On a small round table were delicate little trays with small thin slices of turkey, some muffins (dry), a few slices of cucumber, berries and an empty plate or two. Our server returned to our table to inform us that she was restocking the table. Ohhh, they put our a few thin slices of cheese and more turkey. What a joke. We paid $10.00 each for a skimpy snack. Should have gone to a truck stop for a real breakfast.

“Wonderful experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

The staff was very attentive and helpful. The food was very good, but not great. My canard a l'orange was a bit too sweet for me and I rather have the onion soup gratinee in its original version and not their version, which was not bad, but I guess I am conservative in my taste. The place is lovely with a homey decor. Nevertheless, it's a great place for a nice, quiet, and romantic dinner.

“SO MUCH BETTER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

If you have been to Mirabeau in years past and eaten there when you would get the “gifts from the chef” and the tiniest portions you’d ever seen that looked too good to even eat (or looked inedible because you didn’t know what half the items on the plate were) THEN YOU HAVE TO GO BACK!

They have converted the ‘fanciest place in CNY’ to a steakhouse. It’s still the same décor, same great staff and same upscale feel, but the food is much more – shall we say – normal. The Lobster Bisque is amazing, my steak was perfect and the tableside flambé for dessert is a fun added treat. We went there just the two of us, had a bottle of wine, soups, steak dinners and no dessert and it was $100 on the nose! Much better compared to the old prices they used to have where it was hundreds of dollars and I left starving because I wasn’t sure what was edible on my pint sized plate and what wasn’t! Much better move to go with the steakhouse theme Mirabeau! Their wine bar is still great as always and a nice place to have a drink before or after dinner.

If you haven’t been to Mirabeau in a few years and weren’t a fan of the dining – try it again. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!

PS - the chef is acutely aware of Gluten Free and the manager was willing to go down to the local grocery store to get some Gluten Free bread to have with dinner and pasta! We politely declined but it was a great option!

“Gourmet healthfood in an outrageously romantic setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

On a recent business trip to Syracuse, NY, my wife and I had dinner at the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Skaneateles, a town about a half hour's drive from Syracuse. The dining room adjoins an impossibly picturesque and charming pond with a footbridge, koi, lilypads and bullfrogs. The admittedly expensive restaurant is part of a serious spa and features an impressive wine list and healthy gourmet food, beautifully prepared by a chef who understands how to make familiar restaurant fare exceptional, and served by a knowledgeable and extremely friendly wait staff. We sat out on the terrace and enjoyed our visit -- food, wine, service, ambiance, bullfrogs -- so thoroughly that we went back the second night of our trip, even though it involved an hour's round-trip travel time from our Syracuse hotel and even though there are many fine restaurants in Syracuse.
