“Delicious and too much food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Went for lunch with a co-worker who is a local to the area. When ordering his fish sandwich platter, he asked for a 2nd bun. Once our food was ready I saw why! The fish sandwich has an enormous pc of perfectly fried fish. More than enough for 2 whole sandwiches. I ditched the roll and just ate the fish so that I could eat as much as possible. Onion rings are freshly made and delicious. Once again, the quantity was outrageous. Even the coleslaw was good! Excellent lunch, but make sure you are hungry when you go.

“Excellent as usual!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

During this years visit to Skaneateles we made our visit to Doug's. We ordered a Fish Onion Dinner and side of fries. We shared and it was still almost too much! The piece of fish was so big we cut it in half, he ate his on the bun and I enjoyed mine with the tangy homemade tartar. The light breading on the onion rings makes the sweet flavor come through! Delicious! Fast service, great food!

“Fresh Fried Fish at it's Finest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

I'm a local-so I avoid a place with outrageously long lines. But if your clever and beat the mealtime buzzer by a half hour you can manage to get a delicious fried fish dinner (we ordered onion rings instead of fries). Portions could feed an army- so be wise when ordering. The food is served Deli style -place your order-pay and wait. The wait, however -due to their experience with large lines, is fast and tolerable. You can eat indoors at a variety of picnic tables or scoot outside to and area in the back in the fresh air. Either way-you can't go to Skaneateles without going to Doug's-because everyone when you get back home will ask you if you went to Doug's.

“An institution, and deservedly so”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Doug's is a landmark with a huge, dedicated following of locals and visitors -- and it deserves the reputation it has enjoyed for decades. No trip to Skaneateles is complete without it.

You can get chicken and non-seafood here, but fish is what Doug's is all about. He must have a great relationship with suppliers in New England, because his scallops & fish are consistently excellent and delicious.

Don't come here for a gourmet meal -- the fish & scallops are fried, the fries are great and the cole slaw is worth taking home. But this is a home-style fish fry place, and you won't find one better. Great for families, too.

“Nothing fancy, just fabulous food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

The best shrimp cocktail in the area, bar none. Delicious fried fish, terrific fries, and sometimes scallops. Fresh fruit ice cream sundaes. The long line can be a pain on summer weekends, but the great food and low prices make the lines understandable.
