Expect a well prepared meal nicely presented, attentive wait staff and adequate wine list. I will definitely dine here again.

“Wedding 4/27/13 Pat K”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Planning a wedding is not always easier, and a lot of stress. I would just like to say THANK YOU to Maria, Amanda and Heather for a job very well done. Maria made our life so much easier. We just told her what we wanted, and it was done, and done beautifully. Heather and Amanda made the day. They meet us at the front door and we didn't have a need that was not met for the entire day. The food was wonderful, and the quantity was unbelievable. The entire staff was wonderful. I really can't say enough about the great service and quality of food at Glen Sanders. I would highly recommend this venue for any event, especially a wedding. They made the day even more amazing then we ever expected. Great job done by ALL!!!!!!

“"A Good Meal and Great Ambiance"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Had. Very good meal with friends at this venue. Had a veal chop Parmesan and it was too much to eat. Members of party had a variety of entrees and no complaints. Restaurant was very quiet with not many patrons. Service was excellent and back up waitstaff made sure our water glasses were always filled and bread on the table. Most ordered a chopped salad and it was very tasty and plentiful. Had a risotto appetizer and it was excellent. Restaurant is a bit pricy with everything a la carte. Would not hesitate to return. Did not have dessert but lots of choices! Huge wine selection but expensive.

“It took me 10 years...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

I've lived not 10 miles from Glen Sanders and passed it countless times. I also love good food and history, so really there's little excuse. Finally, last night, I attended a banquet. A chilly Spring Monday night banquet. I can't say enough about the food. Buffet service is always sketchy, but all the food was the right temperature and delicious. The salad options were good, the grilled veggies were excellent. Chicken Milanese was presented with a healthy serving of arugula. The beef tenderloin and seafood over rice -- really, it was all delicious. Even the coffee, from urns, was hot, strong, and good.

“Tavolo's Always Delivers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Angelo's Tavolo, at the Glen Sanders Mansion, in Scotia, NY is consistently a good experience. We prefer to eat at the bar in the basement, the bar was busy, but we were able to find a couple of comfortable stools. The tables behind us were filling up quickly as well. A nod to the Mazzone group for having yet another good spot to dine.
Part of the experience of eating at the bar is chatting with the bar tender. We asked him what martini was his favorite to make. He said he was working on a new one and asked if I like lemon and basil. When I said yes, he muddled some basil and created a delicious lemon basil martini that was as fresh as it was delicious.
We ordered the Bruschetta with house-made ricotta, honey and guanciale (un-smoked Italian bacon) and were disappointed. The ricotta was dry, the honey barely showed up and the guanciale had little flavor. We wouldn't order this appetizer again. This is one reason why this review is for only four starts instead of five. The bread, however, is worth the visit alone. They serve the bread and breadsticks with a dish of delicious accompaniments and a nice dry cheese. The portion seemed a little smaller than on previous visits, but if asked, they would bring more.
The entree portions are always a good size at Tavolo, so we typically share just one entree. For the sake of the review, however, we felt we should order two entrees. The Veal Chop Parmigiano, Tavolo Style, is served with a choice of pasta; we chose the house-made spinach gnocchi. As with the bread, this did not disappoint. The chop was tender, smothered in mozzarella; the gnocchi were equally as tender. The Pappardelle alla Bolognese is always delicious. It's unfortunate that they don't make their own pappardelle, but the bolognese is so good, the fact that it isn't house-made pasta is almost overlooked (reason #2 for four stars).
Overall, we will certainly go back to Tavolo. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the food is consistently good.
