“Not fancy, just delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

A relatively new restaurant that appears to be an excellent addition to its community. The interior is pine paneled with an Adirondack-themed decor. We ate there on a Saturday and totally enjoyed our meals. I had the berry salad with steak since I was not that hungry and just loved it. There were fresh raspberries and blueberries and dried cranberries and almonds. My husband had one of the stews and also enjoyed his choice. We split the blueberry cheesecake. IN FACT, we enjoyed our meals so much that we returned the next night too. I went with the same salad - this time with chicken, strawberries and some goat cheese. Still great. My husband had the aurora fettucine- also a winner. On the second night we each had some blueberry cheesecake- it was so good. Both nights the owner came and talked with us- a very engaging guy. We wish the restaurant the best and hope to come back to try some of the other selections on the menu.

“Adirondack Bistro/Bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

This restaurant is less than a year old and has hit it's stride. It has a casual atmosphere with a large open seating area, over-sized booths and plenty of seating at the bar which is where I sat, being solo. Alex was behind the bar and was engaging, attentive, and went so far as to create a special sour cream and horseradish sauce for my entree. The mushroom soup and strip steak sandwich were well prepared and timely even though the restaurant was nearly full. Patrons are a mix of tourists and locals - Ilene & Bill who are Schroon Lake residents were my very friendly bar mates - waitstaff and owners assure a good experience. I recommend trying out this eatery when in the area.

“Great food & old-fashioned Adirondack hospitality!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Recommended by the owners of the Pinetree Motel & Cabins in nearby Loon Lake (Chestertown). This gem is worth the 20 minute drive from Chestertown,NY! Easy to find (came up accurately on Google maps GPS) with plenty of parking, Sticks & Stones started on a good note and just got better as the evening progressed. The food is well prepared, fresh and unexpectedly well presented, like they have a fine-dining chef tucked in that wonderful kitchen! Our server, Kathy, was very attentive and knew the menu intimately. The owner was on the premises and made a point of meeting with every guest in the house. Extra points for hospitality and for chatting with us at length (all four people at our table are "foodies", with a former restaurant owner thrown in for good measure). Definitely worth a stop if you are even close to Schroon Lake . . . or even if you're an hour away.

“Might be the best restaurant in Town!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Ate dinner at Sticks and Stones twice while vacationing in Schroon Lake. The restaurant is large, bright, and nicely decorated, and the staff is very friendly. The fig and goat cheese salad is outstanding, as is the beef soup (really more like a stew) appetizer. Portions are more than ample.
