Description: At Petta's, we spend a majority of our time prepping our entrees with the perfect spices and sauces to make them as tasty as can be. All of our dishes are sauteed and cooked to order, using fresh ingredients. Our portions are large and our prices can't be beat. We have an extensive list of beers and wines to choose from as well as seafood and steaks. Our steak is some of our customers' favorite entree. Aged and cut on our premises, our steaks are juicy and cooked to perfection. Petta's offers plenty of vegetarian options too. Come in and try a Salad with our famous Blue Cheese Dressing, Soup, Veal Oreganata, Eggplant Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala, or Sea Scallops. Petta's is the premier restaurant destination in Schenectady with friendly staff, a charming atmosphere, and savory cuisine.

“Pasta Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2011

Tuesday Petta's offered a special Pasta Nite - for $7.95 you get a choice of pasta and meatballs or sausage with salad or soup.
I got it to go - once again it was very good.
You also get bread - which is the best!
They have been running different specials durning the week and on the weekends - check their web site for more info.

“You have to go back.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2011

Basic Italian dishes. I found the eggplant parm and the chicken cacciatore to be the best. The portions are so large that you will enjoy your meal over again at home. Whatever bread and sauce left on your table when you have finished your meal is packed to go. Whenever I have leftovers to take home I feel satisfied. At Petta's the food is so tasty that I feel doubly satisfied. The atmosphere is friendly and nice for family dining.

“Best Italian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2011

Petta's is a great Italian Resturant - the food is good and the waiters are very friendly. We often get our meal to go - just as good as if you were eating there. It is located not in the best part of Schenectady but it is worth the drive. No matter what you order it is always good - love the bread which they will let you take home. You get a choice of soup or salad with your meal.
If you are looking for a Italian Resturant Petta's is a good choice.
They have been there for 60 years - have to be doing something right!

“Take-out is not good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2010

Chicken parm tasted like it was cooked a couple days ago and reheated. Not a lot of flavor. Bread was good. Cheesecake was average. Portions were large.

“Low key family Italian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2009

In this out of the way corner of the dilapidated and time worn streets of Schenectady, an oasis of family dining awaits. I've been fortunate to have enjoyed several family meals at this restaurant since moving into town and hearing about it from recommendations of friends and neighbors.
While the decor is somewhere between kitschy and no-frills, the service is always professional, considerate and efficient. The menu and list of specials is large, and there always seems to be something for everyone. On a recent family gathering that included some picky eaters, everyone seemed pleased with their meals which included everything from pasta and meatballs to a delicious plate of frogs legs. Currently they offer a caramel pumpkin cheesecake seasonal desert special that is truly outstanding.
Prices seem to range between $10 for basic items and $35 for premium selections such as the large prime-rib dinner special.
While the neighborhood can feel a bit touchy at times, they do have a large, well-lit parking area, and there is a ramp for disabled or elderly guests.
