It is a very beautiful garden. The park is very nice to visit. It is a great place to have a picnic. The gardens are very well kept up.

“Lovely Roses”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

A lovely free thing to do outdoors in Schenectady. Go when the roses are blooming; you won't be disappointed.

I had a hard time finding it; the map on the website schenectadyrose.com, makes it look easier to find than it is. We accessed the park by taking Route 7W, right turn on Golf Road. You then want to go left on Fehr, right toward the pond, around the pond to the left, up the hill, hairpin turn, down the hill and you'll see the roses, not far from the pond. Best to just ask folks in the park.

We spent a long time wandering around admiring the different varieties. Beautifully kept gardens. A wedding was about to start there as we were leaving.

Wish they had labeled the varieties. Do sniff the lavender ones, heavenly scent!

My main gripe is the lack of signage to find the darn place. Still, worth making the effort to seek it out. Central Park is large and well-used, with several baseball fields, a large pond, frisbee golf cages and more. It was a nice way to while away some time on a pleasant day.

“Smell the Roses”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

This garden at the edge of Central Park is so beautiful. It has many varieties of roses and rivals the collection at Yaddo. There is a hill where one can sit in the shade and enjoy the view.

“If you love roses...don't miss this.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

It's been named one of top 10 rose gardens in America. Need I say more. Stunningly beautiful and a work of love by many dedicated volunteers.

“Exquisite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

A simply gorgeous reprieve from the hustle & bustle of the city! The rose garden just gets better with time! Kudos to the volunteers who invest their time to the upkeep & planning for the future! The array of color is picturesque, & the variety & quality of roses is impressive, indeed! Stopped here 21 years ago in July to take pictures with my newborn daughter on the way home from the hospital, & the garden has only become more beautiful over the years. Nature at its best!
