“Loved Downtown and the Downtowner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

After years at The Adelphi, the closure for the season made me look at alternatives. I chose the right one. The location, the parking (Excellent for a downtown location), and the staff were a delightful experience. Pricechopper right out the back door, Uncommon Grounds out the front door left to Putnam Mkt and Compton's, right to all kinds of clothing stores. And the Racetrack, down Phila St., right on Nelson, left on Lincoln (stop for a martini at Siro's) and a twenty plus minute stroll gets you to the best throughbred track in the world. Whether you go is up to you, I know I will return. KJ

The location is amazing, right in the middle of the strip. The price was great to. The Motel is a little old but very clean. The staff is friendly. Nice continental breakfast. Will definitely stay there again. My only complain was the parking. The main parking was full so we were told to park in the public parking right behind the hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed here in the month of May so we had no need for A/C. Inquire about the air conditioning, I...

Being the week before the track season, made this a good deal. It is in the middle of Broadway which is downtown. It is an old motel but clean, fairly quiet, and safe. We were happy to get an interior room. A few updates like regrouting the bath would make this a real deal but we would still go back again. Professional staff at the desk, for the most part. Continental breakfast was okay with cinnamon bread, bagels, English muffins, juice, coffee, tea and some fruit. Parking is free and you will not have to drive anywhere. There was a refrigerator and a new petite upscale Price Chopper just two short blocks away. Walk to many restaurants and bars.

Room Tip: We liked the interior rooms. There is an indoor pool right out our door. But closed at 8:30. Quie...

This Hotel is certainly an older hotel, but the rooms are bigger then most newer hotels. Yes, the hotel could use some updating but that does not effect your stay or the cleanliness of the rooms. The beds are not pillowtop but certainly for the price the beds are adequate for the amount of time you plan to sleep. The fantastic location and the great hospitality we always receive from Carolyn, you cannot beat this hotel. My husband and I stay here once a month or so when he has business in the area and are always pleased with our stay and the price. The indoor pool is a plus (very clean and just the right temperature dependant upon the time of the year. They also have a quick start type breakfast with coffee, juice, fruit, danish bagels etc...it's not fancy, but it does the trick to get you started on your day. Please understand this is not a Marriott or Hilton, but I don't know of a Marriott or Hilton that is smack dab in the middle of Broadway with a price point of under $100.00 on the 4th of July Holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for Carolyn when you call and she will help you to select a room based on your needs. If you wa...

Just stayed here for a couple of nights for a weekend of concerts at SPAC. Let me start off with the good: the location is fantastic. Literally right downtown plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. Try to get a room facing broadway. Deck outside was a plus to get some sun and people watch. The people at the front and cleaning staff were very friendly except for one incident and on to the bad: when we got in from the first nights show the front desk person of the night (aka Dad waiting up past our curfew) greeted us with the following statement "now keep in mind everyone else at this hotel paid the same amount as you to stay here so keep it quiet" and a good evening to you too captain buzzkill. keep in mind we are not 18-22 years old we are 35+ with no signs of rowdy drunkenness. I'm sure they deal with this problem a lot but maybe if he picked his targets a little better. Also, the front desk should mention to guests how to work the shower because the button to turn the head on I'd well hidden. The beds are so uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure the mattresses weighed a pound and had more bounce than a trampoline. The ugly: we felt we needed to wear flip flops IN the room while walking ON the carpet. nuff said. I swam in the pool and I'm wondering if that was really a good idea. So like I said its all about location

I called at the last minute to find a room for my husband and me. Carolyn was very pleasant and gave me some options for different rooms. Even though it was the 4th of July holiday, we were able to have a very comfortable and affordable room for the evening of the 3rd. My son and daughter-in-law are looking forward to staying here as well for their anniversary in a week ! Great location, too !!

Green Features: They charge a $250 fee if you're caught smoking in your room. I like that; it keeps the smokers far away !!

WE stayed at this motel in June and the price was right , the rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly.. The continental breakfast was fresh and it had a nice variety. The central location of this motel is perfect for those who want the downtown experience. You walk out of your door and you are right in the middle of town.
