“Beware of layout”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

This is a good location with close proximity to downtown Saratoga Springs but be aware of the layout, especially if you've stayed at other Residence Inns. A two bedroom suite at this hotel chain is our usual preference when we travel with another couple so here was no exception. However, when we walked into the suite we found one bedroom with bathroom and closet (standard layout) but the second bedroom had no bathroom (it was across a small hallway) and no closet. It was a very small room consisting of a bed, two bedside tables and one small dresser with just about enough room to walk around--not even space to put luggage. The bathroom situation was not a problem but, apparently, whoever stays in this small room has to walk through the other bedroom to get to the only closet in the entire suite. When we called the front desk, they explained that this layout was necessary because it was an adjoining suite. Fortunately, the hotel was not that full so they were able to find us in a regular suite that was not adjoining (rates were the same for both) which gave us a more traditional layout with two bedrooms having their own bathroom and closet. Overall, the staff was very accommodating and the facilities were okay. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. Also, there was a conveyor type toaster that was permanently on during breakfast with a high pitched squeal. When I commented to one of the staff they said "yes it really annoys us too". I'm not sure how much it costs to repair or replace such a toaster but it seems Marriott should be able to find some pennies in their bank to do something about it!

Room Tip: If booking a two bedroom suite, ask for a suite that does not have an adjoining door.

Saratoga Springs is a great place to visit! My family and I stayed at the Residence Inn and enjoyed the location right off the highway and the indoor pool was a hit with the kids. The room was decent but the location was the best. Plenty of great restaurants in the area and wonderful shops to visit. Will definitely stay here again since the hotel is spacious and provides the comforts of home away from home.

The Residence Inn is a terrific place !! The facility is beautiful, well maintained grounds with a terrific staff!! The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating!!! The breakfast is excellent along with the snacks and wine at night!! The only complaint is the very small workout facility!!

Room Tip: The higher level rooms ate the best!!

Saratoga's a great town with a lot of great hotel and restaurant options. I like to stay at the Residence Inn, just outside of the downtown area. You could walk but you don't need to. It's a great facility, very nice rooms, loads of free parking and great service. Check-in is always quick and pleasant and they are full of great recommendations.

It was a little tough to find (apples fault) and I booked way too far out of town (my fault), but the staff really made our 1st anniversary awesome. I work at a hotel and would hire anyone I came into contact at the drop of a dime, Nathan (i think) at the FD was the man and we had the most interactions with him, THANKS AGAIN. The engineer/shuttle driver, young lady at the fd, and the night auditor (brought us up water on a tray with ice when I just needed a bottle) were all very friendly and helpful. I booked on short notice and was just expecting a room to stay in away from the kid for the night but got way more expected, and their free shuttle service saved our plans for the night and $$$.

We stayed here for a couple of days to enjoy the horse races, wonderful place to stay all the comforts of home, frig, microwave, dishwasher, dishes in the kitchen. color TV, in one king size bedroom suite. Breakfast was excellent, staff were extremely helpful, beautiful pool & spa,
tennis court, 5 minute drive to downtown Saratoga Springs. We will definitely stay here again

A great place to stay. Nice pool for the family with great service by the staff. The only negative is the squeeky toaster. Breakfast is above average with salsa and halipinos for the extra zing. Shuttle will take you local. Not in downtown proper but very close

Room Tip: They have a shuttle to get you around so no DUI if you want to enjoy the downtown or local brewery.
