“Don't miss this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

This was a great little stopover for us on our way back from Quebec to NJ. The rooms were spotless with comfortable beds, the grounds very well maintained, lots of flowers everywhere and a pretty little patio outside the room. We had rooms 23 and 21 and they really had a B&B feel to them. The owners Mark and Michelle couldn't be nicer and had great ideas for dining, the area etc. We are planning to come back and stay longer next time and we'll definitely be staying here! Don't miss this place!

This place is more of a motel than an Inn but, room/suite was very large with a full kitchen and an HD TV and king sized bed. The owners were sooo nice and very helpful with advice on golf courses and restaurants....they were on the mark with all recommendations. Half the price of an Inn a couple blocks away...so a good value.

Room Tip: suites have a little patio in front of room with two ricking chairs ....really nice place to read th...

My Fiance surprised me with a wonderful weekend getaway to Saratoga this past weekend. We were originally scheduled to stay at the Downtowner but when we arrived we were told that our room was not available due to a plumbing issue and would not be resolved. However we were pleasantly surprised that they had set us up in a room at the Carriage House Inn. When we arrived there we were sooo happy that we were now going to be staying there. Mark was the one of the nicest people we've ever met and set us up in a beautiful suite. It was one of the nicest places we'd ever stayed. The grounds were immaculate and we couldn't have had a more enjoyable stay! It ended up being one of the best birthdays I've ever had a much of that was due to Mark, the Carriage House Inn and the majestic rooms there! We will be back soon!!!!

Good location, knowledgeable owners...clean room!

My mom and I stayed at the Carriage House Inn in June as we traveled to Maine for a vacation. The owners knew good places to eat and knew the area very well. The room was comfortable and quiet. They recommended a neat place for brunch (as we traveled to Burlington, VT)! We would stay here again!

A great experience all around - starting with Mark's friendliness when we made the reservation and ending with his help in packing our car the day we left. And in between - Mark's great recommendations for restaurants and things to do; a quiet location that's a short stroll to lots of restaurants and shops without being in the middle of the crowd; rooms that are comfortable, clean, and well cared for (and include a little kitchenette); a balcony with rocking chairs and beautiful baskets of flowers. Saratoga Springs was our last stop in 2-week trip. We were looking for a place to slow down and relax rather than a chain hotel or an expensive inn. The Carriage House Inn was just the right mix!

We previously went to the Carriage House Inn in November for a quick trip, as explained in an earlier post, we had a heating issue in the suite, therefore the owner Mark, gave us the night for free. We wanted to go back as soon as we were able to get away. My husband surpised me with a night away for Mother's Day! We just returned, rested, relaxed, and it was just what I needed! Again, Mark greeted us with gusto! He not only remembered our last trip, but made arrangements for us to have our original suite, which we didn't think was available. He remembered that my husband was very tall, and thought the queen size bed in the other suite wouldn't do, so he arranged for us to have the king suite, again! I cannot say enough about this property and the room. It's just so quaint and it feels like you are staying at a friends house, not a hotel. Everything is thought of, and ready for you when you arrive, includung a list of events that are going on, restaurant reccomendations, etc.. The room is just so beautiful, the bed so comfy, the fireplace, the kitchen, the bathroom, all perfect for a romantic getaway! We will always consider the Carriage House one of our most favorite places on earth! Thanks Mark for another wonderful stay! We will surley be back the minute we get another free weekend!

Saratoga Springs is a lovely, animated town that really comes fully alive in the racing season, which is roughly July 15th to Labor Day. However, I love travelling in the shoulder season, and a recent trip to Saratoga in early June was just about perfect--lush with flowers. The town is loaded with wonderful things to do, and may be best appreciated when it's not overloaded, so consider a spring or fall trip.

The Carriage House Inn was a terrific find! It is located just on the edge of the very busy and charming downtown area, so is a short distance to a large number of chic and intimate restaurants, many of which offer outdoor seating--perfect for seeing and being seen. The foot traffic on the main street (Broadway) is always entertaining, with everything from beautifully dressed dowagers to goth kids and bikers. There is a beautiful park, Congress Park--it's right on Broadway, too--with a great local historical museum and the chance to sample all of the different springs....the Visitor's Center can tell you what each of them "cures". For a real splurge, consider going to the nearby Saratoga Springs Spa (the Roosevelt Baths), which offers a full array of spa treatments....Mark and Michelle can help you with phone numbers, etc. They were also a font of information on restaurant recommendations, directions, etc....all the small things that are needed in a strange town.

The downtown area can become a bit hectic, though, so coming back to the Carriage House was always a pleasure. Our innkeepers were so helpful and friendly, yet weren't intrusive. Our room was in one of the 2 converted carriage houses that sit behind the beautiful old houses that front the street. It was a really BIG, beautiful room with 2 queen beds and a full/well-equipped kitchen, big closet, etc. It was SPOTLESSLY clean and had a pair of rockers on the front porch for relaxing. The grounds (see pictures) are beautifully landscaped, with lush flowerpots and a fountain. Though there is a McDonald's across the street and a convenience store 2 doors down, the Carriage House has a calm, charming ambiance that completely won us over.

As we were two women travelling together, we wanted someplace clean and pretty, but not with that "honeymoonish" feel that bed and breakfasts often have....we also didn't want just a regular motel. I don't think we could've found a more perfect combination. Thanks again to Mark and Michelle for making our first, but not last, visit to Saratoga Springs so delightful.
