We found this true gem in the middle of downtown Salamanca, and what a pleasant treat! While driving through Salamanca we were a little put off by the surrounding area, but all of a sudden you come upon an area where revitalization is alive and well.
Vittlesticks is a quaint od lVictorianan house that is being restored into café and eventually a Bed and Breakfast. On our first visit we had a party of four for lunch. While there was plenty of seating inside, we chose to sit out on the side deck. Shaded by old grand trees, we enjoyed a fresh, simple, and quite economical lunch. I had the taco salad, while others in the party had the soup of the day, sandwich of the day, and various salads. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals. But we couldn't leave without trying some of their homemade desserts! I highly recommend to save room for dessert, even if you just stop in for coffee and a piece of homemade (old family recipe) Apple pie!
We went back to try breakfast, and again sat outside, and again we left very satisfied! They also have an ice cream window for those on the go!
Clean restroom, as the Café was spotless. No alcohol achohal served, and only opened for breakfast and lunch.
The service was great, and the atmousphere, very relaxing! Just by looking around you can tell a lot of time and care has been put into restoring the old home. I hope the B&B will open soon, it will be interesting to see what else they have done!
