First off, this is a meditation center that happens to allow visitors to stay over like it's a bed and breakfast. Don't let that detract you because you will gloss over this little secret!
I wanted to find a place that was close to New Paltz so I could easily drive there and to the Mohonk and Minnewaska parks. I also wanted to check meditation out.
This was the best of both worlds. They practice and teach Shambhala meditation... for free! It's tibetan meditation. Great learning experience for me. You don't have to do meditation at all if you don't want to.
There is a great garden in back with a pond... very private. I was out there some days, totally alone and getting some sun.
Breakfast was great! Had the best, freshest scones, oatmeal fruit etc... all organic and super healthy.
But here's the best part. The place is pristine. The people running the place really keep the place super clean. Makes sense for a meditation center with buddhist influence.
It's not a 5 star hotel. But it's cleaner than many 5 star hotels I've been to. Nuff said.
Overall, it was such a good experience that I will probably be heading back. The people, the place, it was all good. Can't wait to go back!
