We stayed for a quick overnight trip, so we were not interested in anything fancy. The hotel was clean and had most of what we needed. I wish they had a cocktail lounge for a nightcap, but they only had a small bistro for breakfast. The breakfast was surprisingly wonderful! The hotel was very difficult to find even though I had been there in the past. It sits at the end of a street at the top of a hill behind a Honda car dealer. At night the sign was quite difficult to see. Everyone was polite and friendly.

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel for a kids hockey tournement. The hotel is very clean and very friendly. We had 12 families in our group and the staff did a great job in making us feel welcome and comfortable. We rented out the "event room" for one day so we could all eat dinner together and play games afterward. There was one problem when an unhappy guest, staying on the same floor as our party, was upset with the noise (at the time 4 families had just gooen to the hotel and were bringing luggage to the rooms). Reluctantly the man moved to another area of the hotel. Even though it was a big group the kids were reasonably well behaved and we hope to go back again next year. The pool is pretty small but served its purpose. There is a lovely cafe but we did not utilize it. Another hotel tried to get our business but we felt very confident that the Courtyard was the best choice.

nice rooms, pleasant stay, i really liked the clean rooms and nice layout. good location. overall i would recommend this place, there was a good amount of vacany also. the breakfast was okay, to be as expected from a hotel.

Escaped from our stay last night at the Holiday Inn Marketplace (Rochester). I reviewed it, not good. Yes you get a "free' breakfast at the Holiday Inn, but the room rate is so high breakfast isn't really free. Came to the Courtyard by Marriott Rochester this afternoon and it is a world of difference. True, the location is a few more minutes out of the way but it is a pleasant and safe appearing neighborhood. The lobby and room are spotlessly clean. Our standard room has a high end sitting area with couch and coffee tables. There is a bar area over the fridge for snacking. There is a bistro in the hotel that serves breakfast and dinner and there are snacks available at front desk 24/7. None of this was available at the Holiday Inn Marketplace and we paid $50 more there. There is a wonderful deli/bakery two minutes away (Leos). The front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful in assisting us in planning our evening and transportation. Drive out to East Rochester and stay in the cleaner, more pleasant and better service oriented Marriott. You won't be sorry. And yes, you do have to watch for this hotel or use a GPS or call them, it is "tucked away" without a lot of signs.
