Nice seats, Prices are reasonable all the way around. Five bucks a head get you in, large popcorn for about 3 dollars, large drink, 2.50. You can't beat this place

Can't beat the price for a double feature. Food prices also so much more reasonable than most theatres. Food portions also more normal than at the chain theatres.

Seeing a movie here is like taking a step back in time! The owner is a great guy - very friendly and welcoming. They pride themselves on their popcorn, and all snacks are reasonably priced. This is a cash-only business. Parking is across the street, and can be a bit sketchy at night, so be aware of your surroundings.

It was interesting to read that the theater, in its early days, had wooden benches on a dirt floor, and was affectionately known as the "Flea Pit".

After missing several opportunities to see Les Miserables during its primary run, it showed up at Cinema Theater. We hurried down to the theater, thinking we were early. In fact, we had read the time wrong, and the show (last one of the evening had already started.

A nice touch: As we were approaching from across the street, the manager was about to lock the door. He looked and saw that we were trying to cross the street. He assumed, correctly, that we were hoping to be his last two customers of the evening!

We only missed about 5-10 minutes. WE found the auditorium to be very comfortable, and were delighted to be supporting small business. Popcorn and soda were reasonably priced. We will return.

Just be prepared = CASH only! No credit or debit cards are accepted.

This is the last of the city neighborhood theaters in Rochester, showing second run and some art house flicks. It has been lovingly maintained by dedicated owners who are film buffs and committed to the neighborhood. Evening double features and afternoon matinees are a fraction of what a suburban theater costs these days. The Cinema has the best fresh popcorn in town. The theater also has a resident cat - if you are really special the cat will come and sleep on your lap during the show. Just don't be surprised by something warm and furry in the dark!
