We stopped into Ridgeview following my daughter's soccer game last night, which was our first visit to this place. Unfortunately, it will also be our last. I have no other way of saying this; the food was not of acceptable quality to me, not at all.
I ordered a couple of simple items. including a small tossed salad and a bowl of chili. Neither one of these require a culinary genius to master, and yet both of them were noticeably sub-par. My salad was a stark pile of iceberg lettuce, topped off with a miniature grap tomato and two slices of cucumber. That was it. Basically, a fistful of iceberg lettuce ripped out of the head and dumped onto a plate.
My chili was, for lack of a better way of saying it, the worst chili I have ever had in my life, and I didn't finish it. It had no chili taste to it, no spice, it was WAY over-salted, and it really didn't resemble chili in any other way. Want cheese on your chili? Don't bother...IT COSTS EXTRA!!! (Yup - cheese on your chili costs extra here.) And it doesn't even taste like cheese!
My daughter ordered the fried chicken bits, with an order of French fries. She was hungry following her soccer game, and was ready for a good meal. She took three bite of her food and said "this doesn't taste good." Are you serious?
My wife had an omelette, which she said was OK, but how do you screw up an omelette?
Overall, the service was great; we have a very friendly waitress who was prompt and attentive, and the inside of the diner was very well done. These are the factors that pulled this restaurant up to a '2'. It was only the food that was inedible.
I will never be back to this place.
